Scottie Pippen is nominated because of his total contribution that he makes while on the floor. He plays SF but can bang it inside with the big men and hold his own or handle the ball very well playing point-forward. His season 2000 numbers are more accurate as to how much he can contribute all around. He scored 17 points a game with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and turned the ball over less than 2 per game. Scottie had 48 double doubles and was POTG 15 times. He set a career high in steal with 9 in a single game, which isn't that surprising since he was well know for being a lock down defender. When fellow player and star Karl Malone was asked about what he thought about Pippen he had very high praise: While he might not be as great as Jordan, Pippen was a great contributor to every team he played on. I voted no - more years probably would of helped his case, just not quite enough in these two years we have to go from.

Nope, I feel it takes a lot more than two good seasons to get into the Hall

Definitely not - he'd be in the HOF of role players though if there was such a thing

pippen is a real solid player who will help out a team in a lot of different ways...
but that is also his down fall for a lot of voters as he does not score 30+ or have 13+ assist, etc. to stand out...
his defense is great, but that is not enough by itself to get into the HOF...

As his primary GM, I have to vote no also. While he could be great at times, he was too inconsistent to rely on as the star to lead the team.

No, didn't do a lot of things well enough to be considered.

I don't think I need to delve into this too deep...the #'s are not there. While Pippen is a do it all player & an integral/versatile piece to a team's success, he's realistically no better than a 3rd piece to a dominant/contending team. Those shooting %'s are pretty woeful. He reminds me of a real life/sim league James Worthy. One thing I may look into, just for my own interest, is to see what types of shooting #'s he forced the opposing matchup into (not that it would change my vote). This would be a good gauge of how to view the Grant Hill's/Penny Hardaway's among others for their versatile #'s & future players of this ilk.
