Arguments For Induction
- Not to be overzealous or anything, but Russell falls in the "one of the best ever to do it" category.
- Pure, sustained dominance over his entire career. Didn't dip under 18 points per game over his first 17 seasons in the NBN. He rose quickly to dominance and held 23+ points per game for over a decade straight, on the way to winning 3 Championships, 7 MVP awards, and a whole bucket load of other achievements.
- As mentioned before, D'Lo is the all time leader in assists, steals, and triple doubles. Russell went over 15,000 assists, 3,600 steals, and 66 triple doubles over his career.
- There is legitimately no weakness here. He rebounded efficiently throughout his career, got stocks, scored extremely efficiently, passed great, and did essentially everything asked out of him until he retired. Retired as a very capable starter in the league as well.
- 10 All-Defensive/All-Defensive Second teams over his career. 3 Playoff MVPs. 8 First teams, 3 Second teams over his career in a very point guard saturated league.
Arguments Against Induction
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
