Arguments For Induction
- Bates started every single season of his career, from 2022-2037, ending up 61st on the scoring leaderboard all time. 

- Three time champion, four time All-League 1st/2nd/3rd team, 3-Point Shootout Champion, multiple-time All-Star. 

- Those numbers. Shooting 47/82/43 over his career at a position that hasn't always been super strong is really special, guiding his teams to three separate championships. 

Aruments Against Induction
- One leaderboard appearance isn't usually very favorably looked at by the voters. Not enough fluff to the resume?

- High turnover ratio is expected, but I find it generally surprising that Bates struggled to make more than one All-League first team when the league's SFs had been primarily weak-ish during his career.

- May have retired a bit young. If he had more time to stack his resume (33), he might be a guaranteed Hall of Famer.

Easy yes. Seven All-Star games, the career totals are low due to the short career but he did enough to merit election in the time he did play.

Another HoF nominee who spent time on my squad and was actually the starting SF when I won my first title here. Became an elite rebounder later in his career to go along with his above-average scoring and shooting percentages. Definitely has enough All-Star teams and All-League awards to get into the HoF and won 3 titles so he seems like a shoo-in to me. Only real question is under what team should he be enshrined? Selfishly I want to say my squad but he wasn't really the focal point of that team. It's a tough call between the Knicks and the Cavs but I think I'll go Cavs because that's likely where he won his other titles and where his rebounding started to blossom.

This was kind of close for me, he was a good player but had high turnovers and a short peak. Only over 25ppg twice, only over 10 rpg twice. But his 3 championships put him over the top, so I voted to have him in as a Cav where he won his first two titles and sealed his career as a HOFer.

Yes. I forgot how good he actually was. In a league where the top SFs basically stay at the top their whole careers, he was able to snag a ton of ASG appearances.

Huge part of my success and two of my four titles. He came to me towards the end of his prime and did a little bit of everything for me. He could score as a 2 or 3 option, rebound and play d. He was a great compliment to Marshall and Davies. He also played really well prior with the Knicks and after his tenure with me for the Clips. But I did vote him in as a Cavalier. Cheers to Bates!

I voted yes as well, he seems to have built a very solid resume and had a peak that covered a solid amount of accolades, and of course several rings, which has a lot of weight whether you want to accept it or not. Voted for him on the cavs when he was in his prime and helped shoulder the load on several championship teams.

I voted yes but it was close. I think the 3 Championships really help and he won a good amount of awards. He was a great scorer and rebounder.
