Its that time of year again for press conferences!! Just shipped off all of my youth to take a risk on Cousy and a new starting big man tandem. Ask away....

Do you think you can win it all now, or are there a few more changes needed to get you there?

Do you think a Foust/Pradilla front court is title contender worthy?

Without having the hometown discount on coysy how do you expect to sign him when the time comes?

Do you think you can win it all now, or are there a few more changes needed to get you there? I don’t think my team is championship level yet, but it’s definitely improving! I think Cousy will be a big help in the scoring department but Baylor and Jones are still developing so I don’t know what my ceiling is yet. I’m excited for the season to start to gauge what other moves need to be made!

Do you think a Foust/Pradilla front court is title contender worthy? I don’t believe they are going to get me over the top, but bring skill-sets close to what I’m looking for at those positions so they will provide a nice stop gap while I see what my team can do. Likely they will be included in any trade offers I throw out later in the season, along with Mikans expiring contract and future picks, etc.

Did you think you had a realistic chance at Cousy when you started negotiations?

Without having the hometown discount on coysy how do you expect to sign him when the time comes? I plan on treating him just like any other coveted star and doing my best to sign him to a manageable offer long term. I understand that there is risk involved in sending away two young guys I loved in Morant and Ausbie for a potential one and done campaign in Cousy, but I think my strength is drafting and developing talent and I want to test the waters on high stakes gambling. Plus I love having Cousy in Boston. It just feels right...

Did you think you had a realistic chance at Cousy when you started negotiations? I had a feeling I would have as good of a shot as anyone else, but it would require the Sonics to be bored and ready to mix things up. If we were in the opppsite situations and I was ready to tear down and rebuild I would probably also take my offer, considering the age of the two prospects coming back alone. In this trade market we’re in, it wasn’t a bad offer, in my opinion.

How far do you believe you can go with this roster?

How far do you believe you can go with this roster? Honestly it’s hard to say at this point. I know I have a lot of talent, but wherher or not they will bring the right collection of production to carry me to a championship is still unknown. Its a whole new roster, so I will need to tinker with lineups, play styles, and possibly even tweak the bench to unlock the teams full potential. I’m hoping that once I figure that out, my team will start stringing together some win streaks and move up the standings to challenge the elite teams.

How do you feel about your position in the east?

How do you feel about your position in the east? A little disappointed with the slow start but I’m hoping the team turns it around as the season goes on and I tinker a bit. I’m optimistic that we’ll string together some wins and hopefully keep pace with the other contenders until I see what we’re made of and can reevaluate my position. There are some good teams sitting at the top of the East right now so it should be a fun season.

Are you surprised by the 12-7 start?

I am a little disappointed, but not discouraged yet. I’ve had some injuries in the last few sims, including losing my 6th man for the next 4-5 sims in Griggs, and with the fresh new roster I’m still working on rotations, lineups, and strategies that bring out the best of the squad.
I had one really bad sim in there that brought my record down closer to .500 than I wanted to be, but it’s a journey! I’m excited to see where we go from here, especially once Griggs comes back to fortify my bench squad.
