Lappy still out of action, will be same format as previous Roundtable
vanimmer
1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
I had predicted a final between the Cavs and the Clippers. Didn't think anyone could beat clips in the west but they lost in 7. East was harder to predict with Hornets and Celtics in the mix for sure.
2. Were there any suprise upsets as well?
Yeah Cavs loosing was an upset for me. Didn't expect Raptors to go that far either.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
Who knows it would have defenitly been much closer. If you the best player in the league in playoffs it sucks badly. The Celtics 1-3 is insanely good and should always be considered as a nr 1 contender team.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
I don't think this draft was soo great to ick from. It will deliver some studs but hard to say which ones imo. As for Reed, he'll be another wasted topproject. I think Houston would have been alot better taking proven studs for their toppicks. they don't camp them, don't put in the effort to make cash, ... So yeah another wasted great player. I offered Petit for willis but no reply.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
The winners are the teams that jumped. Also Nets bought a top10 pick for just cash. Always a win imo. I had a mid pick and was happy to get chico vaughn. I think Chico will make some noise in G league and might be back in NBN sooner then later.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
Well unfortunately TC did nothing major. Under the hood Cruz and Oscar improved a bit. Steveniers improved his scoring but not enough for letter grade changes. McMillon inside and didn't improve his 3P which is a shame really. Not too sure i wanna extend his MLE atm.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy?
Nah bad class and most got overpaid. This league has alot of great players and if the player isn't elite people shouldn't throw that much money at them. They will be very hard to move on later on. Especially with new maxes coming next season.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
I was pleased before TC since i only could offer to a MLE and some minimums. Tc decided different on my MLE
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
We went 5-2 with some very nice road wins. I'm expecting a goos season with a 50 win total. MY 2 bigs and Oscar are elite. Steveniers should throw in another 20+ points and McMillon or Barros will be reboundingn glue guys from the 3. If an opportunity comes i might go for the more classic scoring SF. I could also use a pg to mentor Oscar in his final season but they are hard to get these days.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?
I think some unexpected moves. Anthony Davis was a nice pick up for the Lakers but they payed alot imo.The Nets last night might have won this FA. i'm still a Kyrie fan and if KD comes back at 90% or more they have a great team. If he isn't the same layer after the injury Nets loose out big time for the next 4 seasons.

1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs? I expected a better showing from a few teams that kind of fizzled out earlier than I expected due to the amount of talent. I thought it was a race between my Celtics, the Cavs, and the Hornets out East.. and then expected the Clippers to bully their way into the finals from a lower seed like they tend to do. The Blazers winning was a bit of a surprise, but looking at their roster a little closer showed the amount of depth and talent they had acquired and it made sense that they took the title this past year with their depth at all positions.
2. Were their any surprise upsets as well? Honestly, a little biased, but the Raptors upsetting myself AND the Hornets was a bit of a surprise. They went full Dolla Dame NBA 2019 Portland Trailblazers on everyone and went to the ECF where they eventually lost. That was quite the run.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals? Ya this one hurt me because I had finally assembled what felt like the best core of players I've had in the recent past but injuries anchored me down a bit at a horrible time, which screwed up my seeding and my playoff performance. But it happened and injuries are part of the game and it opened up the field for some other really good teams to show what they had under the hood. BUT that being said, my team was close to full strength for the back half of that series that we had a shot, but it was too little too late and we didn't show up and take it back.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey? This was a tough draft that wasn't extremely exciting, but it watching the Rockets take another legendary big man prospect to potentially rot next to my favorite player of all time, Bill Russell, just makes me sad. I hope we're all wrong and the Rockets surprise us and camp the crap out of him or let him go in a trade to get a win-now talent. BUT I have a feeling that wont happen.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance? The obvious winner in my opinion was the Spurs who have collected a war chest of young talent. They picked up two ideal NBN bigs in Bogut and "Big D" to anchor their lineup with strong defense and rebounding. I really love Bogut for many reasons, but sneakily for his B handles, which reminds me of when I had Marc Gasol who routinely put up triple doubles at the Center position, which is fairly rare. Another sneaky winner is the Jazz who picked up Tom Stith, who will have his potential set to 100, just adding to that high upside front court they're building out there in Utah with him, Wilt, and Larusso (who looked GREAT in that preseason sim). I also like the later pick of Reggie Harding by the Wolves, who could end up with a stud if they can find a mentor for him to boost his potential. The other guy I have my eye on is Alain Gilles, who the Nets dropped a hefty cost to draft. If he turns into a stud thats a great pickup at the 9 spot in the draft, but all he invested was cash, so either way its a win.
Losers in this draft is tough to say at this point since overall it was a pretty weak class and in my opinion everyone who had a late lottery pick kind of lost out. Biggest loser will probably be Willis Reed in the end
For myself, it was tough since I didn't have my own pick, but bought into the back half of the draft and scooped up Terry Dischinger, who has solid potential and a base ratings set that (with some SERIOUS help from TC) could have a poor man's Oscar Schmidt type archetype. But considering he was a late pick, I don't have a ton of hope of him turning into a full blown star, so my focus remains on winning now. I would give myself a B on that pick for now, hoping it pans out over time.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for? My team had the classic TC where no one changed too much, which happens on a team full of old guys and vets who are already in their prime. Dischinger took a small boost going +1 inside scoring but losing his A potential, and my guy Phil Jordon went +1 inside and +1 rebounding which will allow him to take on a bigger role off the bench this season. Other than that, pretty much stale TC in Boston.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy? I was very happy that we were able to sign Simons to a team friendly 22 mil flat deal that will be valuable in the new cap system. I also loved the Brody signing by the Blazers who were able to make him even more valuable after receiving the Playoff MVP award the previous season. And the Blazers securing Queeley for next year also was a great signing to stay elite.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period? Honestly, given the fact that the cap changes next season, it was interesting to watch some of the GM's think ahead and sign players to deals that will look great next year. The Pistons for example, went into this FA period with no one but their newly drafted rookie, and now they have a very appealing looking cap situation with a ton of flat deals on even numbers. Lots of 0's going on there. Classic Yourkers being one step ahead.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes? My team performed very well in that first preseason sim, which was encouraging considering out slow start last year sucking the wind out of the season. I think the only major moves I will be looking to make will be to either get younger while staying competitive or simply try and shore up the bench. Unless a great offer comes in for one of my stars and I can jump start a rebuild.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA? It was crazy to see KD commit to the Brooklyn Nets alongside Kyrie mainly. I was hoping Kyrie would go there and just destroy what they built just like he did in Boston, but we only get one year of frustrated loner Kyrie, before they immediately become the favorite to win it all (unless Lebron recruits Kawhi). Otherwise, I loved the Kemba to Boston move, even though it won't make then any better unless they can trade for a star big man to capitalize on the big injuries around the league this year while its wide open. After that it was pretty weird. Horford to Philly was cool, Butler to Miami was weird, D-Lo to the Warriors was sweet, the Knicks ongoing dumpster fire is hilarious.. Lots of entertainment all around!

yourkers151. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
I had the Hornets or wizards coming out with the title. But things happened and the Hornets lost their best player for taking steroids. That put the nail in the coffin for the Hornets. With the wizards I saw a really good team that could really score so for them to lost to the blazers in the way they did was very surprising. But prop to the blazers who made some great moves(you're welcome).
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well?
The Blazers taking down the wizards in 4 games is a big time upset to me. The Blazers got through some of the best teams to get to the championship. It was an amazing ride for them and to end it with a sweep def caught me off guard.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
I dont think so. They were not great in the front court and I feel that being a weakness hindered them and running into the Wizards who could match them from PG-SF would of had a great edge over the celtics in the front court.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
The odds are in favor he gets wasted. A guy running the team who doesnt put in the effort to get better will just hope potential does its 0art and make his team better. Really sucks when the teams with relatively inactive gms get the top picks.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
Winners for me is the jazz. Stith is perfect for them. They have Jallow who can play SF for the year he sits on the IR. N then he will have a big boost and be able to be camped for his career. He will be a stud for the jazz. Losers I would say would be the Kings who took Neal I nist dont see much good about him. I know he has draft notes but all it does is let you claim $1000 so it does not mean much. For me I liked my pick of Thorn. He had a really good TC and should continue to get better while also helping me be able to draft some steals in the future. I am really happy with the pick.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
As I said in the previous question Thorn took a nice step to turning into a good player as a rookie. He could really turn into something special in time. Being that I signed more older players the only guy who was a disappointment was Nicolin. Was hoping he would get a nice boost and become a player people will be attracted to but I might be stuck with him and hope he just plays really well as the season goes on.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy?
Brody and Simons. Being that the cap system will be changing this was the last time you could have a bargain max. That was what I was hoping to do with Brody and also getting Simons on a max that he could play up to. But things didn't go my way and that's fine. But they signed great contracts and gove both their teams flexibility.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
Yeah the kings signings. I have zero clue what they are doing. Bell is not worth half the contract he signed. Same goes for Josip Gjergja. The kings are stuck with both those contracts and it will cripple the franchise for even longer. I was slightly satisfied with how my FA period turned out. I wanted the big fish and that did not work out. So what I went with then is sign people I feel I could flip. What I misjudged is teams not wanted multi year contracts. But good for me i was able to move 2 of them and i am stuck with the rest for now at least. But I feel Little and/or Nicolin should get some interest. But even with that it is still wait and see.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
I was cool with what happened. Gambee now looks like a very solid player and I have him signed for as low as 3 mill a year. Nicolin looks good outside of the TOs. Also Thorn looked decent. As far as changes I could make some if someone is interested in the players signed to multi year deals. Injuries, suspensions, and the all-star break are areas where the interest can come to light. So it's a waiting game.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?
Holy cow is all I gotta say. So much moves and it was awesome. This will benefit the league big time. The nets a big market just got really exciting. The Knicks still suck yet people will still see them. Pelicans are killing it this off-season and the sign and trades were cool to see. I am actually excited for the season to start and see how it all plays out.

lynchcats1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
I definitely didn't have the Blazers or Wizards in the finals. Injuries and suspensions opened things up wide this past postseason and it was awesome.
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well?
Well yes when you have a Blazers and Wizards final when just about everyone was predicting Cavs and Clippers, I would say there were upsets.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
Cousy being hurt definitely impacted the Celtics' playoff push. I don't know if it would have been enough to beat Cleveland but it's always better when you have your best player and a top two player in the league on the floor.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
He will follow the long tradition of Rockets' first round picks to never develop into what they could have been. Cumberland Posey, Bill Russell are the first two that come to mind. Until they prove otherwise, Willis will end up just like them. A disappointment.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
Well since I traded out of the draft, I can't give myself a grade. The regular season will tell the tale if it was the right decision or not.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
Gus not developing more of a scoring game was disappointing, which is ultimately why I decided to move him for someone more established and decided to build the future around Shaffer instead. The outer ratings look nice, but under the hood, the engine has some problems.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy?
He isn't an old guy but the Blazers getting Brody on a cheap three year deal was the signing of the entire FA period. Great get to bring him back.
There were guys I was hoping to get with my MLE. I didn't get my top choice, but Barrett was one of the guys I wanted to bring in to either be the 3rd guard or start. Going to compare him to what Wade did and decide from there who gets the starters job.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
We only had the exceptions and minimum contracts so I can't say one way or the other if I was pleased or not. We got pieces that fit what I wanted to bring in to surround my starters so in that respect it was successful.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
I had no desire to really evaluate the first preseason sim because I knew I had other moves on the horizon. I will say though that other than the turnovers being a bit high, Hot Rod Hundley exceeded even my highest expectations. I didn't see him going for 30 ppg. The second preseason sim is the one I will be looking at because by and large this is the team I will be going into the season with.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?
A lot of moves, many of which weren't terribly surprising. I like Kemba replacing Kyrie in Boston, and hate that we lost Horford. The jury will be out until next year on Brooklyn being a major player when KD is healthy.
And of course, the Knicks did as the Knicks always do. Nothing. That's why I never buy January hype (hint hint ESPN).

1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
Was expecting a Cavs-Clippers finals but both got knocked out earlier than expected. Any of the top four in the East easily could have made it to the finals, so not surprising they didn't. In the West I thought the Clippers were easily the best team so that was a surprise.
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well?
The Blazers run as a whole was a surprise. Making the WCF seemed like their peak but for whatever reason their defense was just too good to beat. Only reason I can think of is their wings having such a large rebound advantage. It was just their year.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
It could have been enough but they did even the series at 2-2 with him healthy so it is not like they didn't have a fair shot at it. Their depth was awful and that is more to blame than missing Cousy for 2 games.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
He will die in Houston there is no mystery there. If you don't have time or want to put effort in with young players just trade them. Not sure what the point of tanking every season for youth that will never reach its potential is. With how much youth is valued here it makes even less sense.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
I didn't really pay much attention to the draft before the mid-teens. After buying two picks there the year before (with iffy results I'll admit) I decided to sit this one out besides my own pick at #27. A few players I had some interest in were Chico Vaughn, Julian Strawther and maybe Pranas. Didn't scout any of them though but would have if I had a pick.
At #27 I had a few older targets but eventually decided on teenage Masini. He was fringe B inside and B- defense, blocked a shot in camps and has a high jump shot. Don't have high hopes for him but he has a decent base so maybe GLeague TC will treat him well.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
Nobody on my team had much if any potential left so I'm not surprised none of them had a great TC. Still, it is a shame when more go down than up. If I was hoping for anything it was Giannakis maybe making a jump with his scoring letter grades or Zeerack doing something.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy?
My main FA target for myself was Swede and I was able to lock him up on the LLE. He reminds me a lot of Perry but not as good. For bigger signings I don't understand why Ed Dancker got such a cheap deal. It is like anybody with cap is afraid to bid on Clippers. Also liked the Shellie McMillon and Yuri Ozerov MLE signings.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
Losing Schaus hurt but overall I think we had a positive FA considering I was dealing with LLE and mins. I know they got good value from the Mavs for a few guys but my biggest FA loser is the Pistons considering how much cap they had. Only signing of theirs I liked at all was Felici. Kings and Rockets had a bad FA as well.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
With the contracts on my team I'm basically stuck as is and I'm ok with that for now. The first pre went pretty well but some teams sat their starters. Liked what I saw from the new guys off the bench.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?
Very excited by the Nets moves. They have a fucking squad now. Watching the Knicks spend 70M on role players was also pretty great. I'm expecting Kawhi to go to LA and most likely to the Lakers, don't think there is anybody else left of note.

The Slough1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?I think the same teams from last season will be at the top with more stake in the game compared to teams going into this new cap change, which will be interesting. I think the biggest sleeper team will be the Warriors withing having a great start last year and likely might have won it all or took Bundy to 7 games if everyone was healthy all year. 2. Were their any surprise upsets as well?I felt the Hornets getting worked that bad sucked. Possibly the Cavs as well, but I think they all had injuries, which still effects the upset to me. 3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals? Most likely. He is the best player in the league, in the best position of the league, and well has already done it so much, so yes I think it would have been a different Finals all together. 4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey? If this clown doesn't camp him every year, he should be fired for that first off and should be something to put him on point for that. I love Willis Reed as the history of a player and the draft, I think this is a great pick and stand by my if he isn't fully camped or traded, he needs to be fired. 1. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?Rockets with Willis reed is Winner to me. Love the pick and player, love to see what he can do. Nets with Gilles curren't not looking good in the draft. For myself, I killed it, got Don Nelson, the man, got him mentored and looking like a solid late lotto pick, but needs work on defense. I also got Olson to send in GLeague who I like in the draft camps. 6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?Actually everyone took a nice step that I cared about. Guy Rodgers, Ausbie, Nelson, Vautier, and about same for Pieri and AA, but everything progressed in the right direction for me, so the Preseason and early sims will be key to see what they can do and trade extra assets which I am hoping to do. Guy Rodgers looks like a diamond in the rough, plus his Late Bloomer camp he can have to his skill set. 7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy? FA is over. Landed Ausbrie and Guy Rodgers. About that, only thing stacked is your Mother!!! 8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?I had a great big meal in FA with a large portion of 'CHIA', a little 'White' 'Guy' Cu'Yury' and some Josiah 'Jam'es.......... 9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?Team was fine, testing out players. Looking to deal anyone but Don Nelson and Pieri at the moment. Come get some Sixers!!!! 10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?Go Sonics! Go Sonics! Go Sonics! LOL at the nets paying KD for 4 years to play 3 years for them. I think so dumb on these players basically making deals behind the scenes. Lebron can't play without a super star, I love the fact I grew up with the best of the NBA in the late 80's to 90's. Rockets with Willis reed is Winner to me. Love the pick and player, love to see what he can do. Nets with Gilles curren't not looking good in the draft. ucfinfan861. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs? I figured the Cavs would have won once Jerry West was suspended. I thought the Cavs/Hornets had the 2 best chances from the East. The West was a little more wide open. I figured the Clippers were the favorites, but not surprised to see the Blazers represent the West. I was surprised at the sweep in the finals. That seemed like a pretty even matchup.
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well? Cavs losing was probably the biggest surprise. Overall though there was a lot of talented teams in the playoffs last year and not one glaring favorite so not really all that surprising.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals? Possibly. Cousy has been the best player in the league for so long and he always gets to the finals. I didn't like the Celtics big man rotation very much though and didn't think they were any more likely than the other top seeds to make the finals. I really would not have been surprised to see any of the top 5 seeds make the finals in the East.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey? I'm going to say he'll be another wasted talent until proven otherwise. History suggests that is the most likely outcome. I'm not sure that Reed should have been the #1 pick though. I was really intrigued with DeBusschere and think he would have been just as good to go #1.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance? The Spurs were big winners. Landing DeBusschere who I just mentioned I thought could have gone #1 and then getting the #5 pick for Hundley. I didn't think Bogut was the best pick at #5, but for what they gave up I thought it was a good deal. I also really liked the Jazz getting Stith, he was someone I was trying to acquire. As for losers, I thought both PGs were over drafted. For my team, I was really intrigued with Stith/Gilles draft notes. I paid alot to go get Gilles and it might not look like the best decision now that he dropped to C potential, but I'm still going to have fun with his draft notes. I didn't really give up much considering it's just my pick this year which should be non-lotto, especially in a very top heavy East and cash.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for? Barnett had a nice TC. He kept his B potential and increase his defense which was nice. I'm still very excited about what he can become. Lopatka/Bordmann remained steady and it was nice to see Lopatka get his B potential back. The loser was Gilles, he only improved his rebounding, but losing the potential sucked. All my vets stayed the same which was nice.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy? Brody on that contract was a very risky move that paid off. I liked getting Skinny/Bobro back on 9mil flat contracts. Ozerov for the MLE was a nice signing.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period? My FA could have went better if Ozerov took my higher offer. I didn't really mind losing Chia/Nicolin and I mentioned above I was happy with Skinny/Bobro. I think Posey for the MLE is a decent signing if he can be a league average starter. I didn't like the Kings signings. Otherwise, there wasn't very much talent available and there was alot of cap space. Players were going to be overpaid. None of the other contracts were crazy though as the big money were all 1-2 year deals which don't really matter that much.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes? My team went 4-1, but it was an extremely easy schedule. I like the Bobro/Dino big man pairing. Barnett is going to be a very nice 6th man. I'm hoping for a little more out of Lopatka/Posey. I'm definitely going to be looking to make roster changes. This roster is in transition right now and will hopefully be dealing all season.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA? I loved it. It was a very fun night following the news on Twitter. The only real move left to see is where Kawhi goes and I hope it's not to the Lakers. It's surprising and it shouldn't be to see bad teams continue to give out bad contracts. NBA teams shouldn't be signing role players to 3 year deals for 10+mil when you can find minimum guys to give you the same production. I also love to see how bad the Knicks fucked up this FA.

1. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
I definitely did not think the Blazers would win the championship. I probably would have picked the cavs just on paper but I honestly did not think the celtics would fade like that even though cousy was injured to make the 4 seed going into the playoffs was unexpected for me. Realistically I dont think anyone expected the Blazers to win it but they did a nice job building their team and have made some good moves since.
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well?
Trailblazer upsetting the Clippers was a bit of an upset to me. To be honest I feel that PG is such an important position in this game that I was surprised they got so far with Brody giving them the production he did. He is a good young player but hes not one of the top PGs in the league so I was surprised they beat a very good clippers team. Happy for him though he is an active GM he deserves it.
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
I like to think so. I think the celtics have a couple more runs in them and with the cap changes I think after next year the Schmidt contract will actually loo pretty good. I think they can keep this team together for a while and if they can do that and make some smart draft picks that they can mentor they will be back.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
He probably will be uncamped but I would have taken Dubeschere or however you say his name. I am very intrigued by his ability to move to SF. Not sure how Willis and Bill Russell will work together but at least on paper the Rockets have a pretty good team.
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
I don't want to be a homer but I had Stith as a top 3 pick so I was super happy to get him at 6. The nets made a strong offer for that pick and honestly if Stith hadnt been there I probably would have taken it but I think having an extra camp for 3 years of his rookie deal and his true potential changing to an A he can be very good. The other 2 picks I love is Deubeschere at 2 and Harding at 18. I almost tried to trade back up and get Harding so I could mentor him with Wilt but if the Wolves find a mentor he will be very very good.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
I liked that Stith got better even though he hasnt been camped yet and his potential hasnt been changed. Wilt also got better and I have not claimed his draft notes yet. I don't really have a ton of young guys but I like how they are developing so far.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy?
I love any free agent signed this year because of the new cap rules. I think Brody and Simons were great signings because they were both signed to below market deals under the new cap rules next year. I would assume that next free agent class is going to blow as well because any good young player coming off his rookie deal can get an offer they cant refuse and be signed for 6 more years at a massively below value contract under the new system. I was surprised more players didnt get longer term deals to lock them in under better contract numbers.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
I pretty much sat out free agency. The more I think about the Puggy Bell signing the more I dont hate it. I think it was a massive overpay and he could have gotten him for like 6 years 36mill but especially under the new cap that deal will not look to bad and he is a solid player. That being said I thin the Kings have some work to do.
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
I like how I did. I tried an inside style and Wilt and LaRusso balled out. LaRusso in particular looks very good and I am happy with his development. Jallow is pretty solid and Isaacs is definitely a step down from teodosic but it is what it is.
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA? I love this NBA free agency period. I love what the Sixers did maybe even more than what the Nets did. I think a lineup of Simmons Richardson Tobias Horford Embiid is going to be amazing. Horrible at perimeter defense but amazing. I am very interested to see what the Lakers do because if they dont get Kawhi they are super fucked and I don't think they will have enough to get a max player next year. I for one hope Kawhi goes to clippers.

SpikeLee141. The playoffs are done and the Blazers walked away with their 1st championship, what were your predictions for the playoffs?
First off congrats to the blazers hell of a season. My prediction was someone coming out of the east tbh. Cavs Boston Hornets all seemed like reasonable options but then the steroid bug caught the hornets but I still thought the Cavs or the Celtics had the chance. Crazy ending to a solid season!
2. Were their any suprise upsets as well?
There where def a couple big upsets watching the Cavs lose so early and then the blazers winning in 4 was shocking. Guess you can never really know what the hell the NBN gods are thinking when stuff like this happens
3. Celtics situation had a GSW feel to it with Cousy getting injured, do you think a healthy Cousy would have been enough to reach the Finals?
I do. Celtics were one of the best teams in the league and when you lose your MVP caliber player it’s insane to think they would not have made a massive run if he stayed healthy.
4. Time to talk about the draft, imo there was no clear cut #1 player to pick, Rockets took Willis Reed, do you think he’ll live up to the expectations or will he be uncamped and another waste of talent to put on a Rockets jersey?
It’s a wasted pick. If you don’t camp these guys they’ll not turn out to be phenomenal players and that’s what you’re looking for at pick 1. Not sure what the point of tanking and having that pick if you’re just gunna let it rot. Might as well flip it for vet talent and compete
5. Which teams were the winners and losers out of the draft? How would you rate your own teams performance?
I love what the Nets did jumping up and snagging a solid looking scoring SG. I wanted him bad at 12 but was jumped and that’s how the cookie crumbles. I can’t say if anyone had a bad draft until the players are proven but as for my team I think I was solid with taking talent where the area was needed. Carlo is over seas but hopefully he can be a solid scoring SG and the pg I drafted is hopefully down in the G league dominating and getting ready to make a debut next year.
6. TC can make or break a player, which players on your team took steps in their development and which didn’t get the results you were hoping for?
Walt Bellamy took a small step forward even with his C rating so that’s always nice. Carlo gained +2 so we are happy about our 12th overall pick putting in some work. Got some you t players here in Phoenix hopefully the fort holds.
7. FA class wasn’t as stacked as most Seasons however their still were some very nice older players available, were there any FA signings that took your fancy? Lot of average players who got paid a ton of money. Guess we will see in the long run but I def would have saved some cap to maybe take a stab at a better class.
8. Where there any that you weren’t a fan of? Also were you pleased/not pleased with your own teams FA period?
Kings moves def made me scratch my head and I obviously love what yorkers did. Dude continues to put smart people he went for the young talent and missed and signed guys that won’t hurt his future. Very smart
9. The results are up for the first Preseason sim, how did your team go and will you be trying to make any upcoming roster changes?
First sim was awful. Just like last year and I think that was the final straw for me. Moved Jalen Johnson for a young SF and decent looking PF and a first and I’m happy with what I got. Koji looks like a solid scoring SF with 6 more camps available so I’m happy to see what he can be
10. Finally, there was a lot of hype regarding the NBA FA period and it definitely didn’t disappoint on its opening day, what are your thoughts on it and what moves are you expecting to happen during the rest of FA?
Obviously KD Kyrie and Jordan Lansing in Brooklyn. Would love to watch them this year but guess we shall wait one more year to se the show. Also now I’m curious what does Kawhi do. Lakers look like the best landing spot but I’d love for him to go to philly and make the easy look really solid. Guess we shall se
