Arguments For Induction
- There's not very many bigs who can say they were a 17/13/3.5 stock player over their career. I'm frankly shocked that he wasn't inducted the first time based off of this being one of the main induction arguments. 

- Five time All-Leaguer. Five time All-Star. Over 700 double doubles, 132 player of the games, and a lot of help on a Jazz team that without him would've likely been very mediocre outside of a few valuable players.

- No glaring faults. Or even "mediocre" abilities". He was a tremendous asset throughout his career and was more like a 20/12.5 player throughout his prime.

Arguments Against Induction
- No Championship. Probably what brought him down last time, and while that's not really his fault as the Jazz held him for what seemed to be five+ years too long, he doesn't have hardware to show of it.

- No Player of the Months and only one Player of the Week. It's pretty hard for a big to win these awards, but not having any on a very highly contested Hall of Fame nominee profile doesn't help.

- Semi-short career? Only 1,088 games, drafted young, and first overall doesn't really help. It's unfortunate more than anything because his ability was still quite good even if his usage wasn't necessarily there.


Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.

I voted yes. And before I explain why, remember, we are voting on a career, not on "career expectations".

Mikan should've been better than what he was. It was likely being camped incorrectly, used in a very strange manner, and being held on the same team that just wasn't working for a while. I think Mikan was a player most of us if not all of us wanted for the majority of his career. Him and Vern were both dominant assets throughout their careers and two of the top big men, and I constantly tried to get Mikan throughout his career to no avail. Mikan's ability was better than the numbers, and for that, I vote yes. He's not a "sure in", but I think he's deserving of 80%+.

Voted no. Zero championships along with the average statistical categories. He did have many awards but that doesn’t get you in alone in my book

I’m voting no still. His career was just too short and his peak wasn’t long enough. Im on the fence about Volasgis and they are pretty comparable players and Volasgis longevity/career leaderboards is what swayed me and Mikan doesn’t have that.

I'm voting yes. If Tostig is in and Volasgis is deserving then Mikan is more than deserving. As it was stated earlier, maybe he didn't reach his lofty expectations of a #1 pick, but he did as much and more than some other centers who have been voted in.

I think Mikan deserves a spot, having a few all league nods is huge. UNlike with vargais, I feel like Mikan brought more to the squad

I'm voting no, he just didn't seem like an impact player and his lack of success in the playoffs backs that up.
