Really? They give up one of the best players in the game to get Emoni and literally nothing else. Not saying that's a bad thing, just feel like they could have extracted more value for a player of that caliber. Emoni has the potential to be elite (and quite probably will be) but nothing is guaranteed. Perhaps one day, Emoni can be on the level of a player like Anthony Davis. Who knows what the future holds? That being said, it's cool for both teams. Feel like value-wise, the Raptors win. Of course you do What do you think AD is worth? Serious question btw.

This is actually funny to read the thread. In our last NBN I traded AD in his prime when he was the best big in the league for what turned out to be 2 picks. One of those picks was yup you guessed it Emoni Bates. AD went on to still have a great career and Emoni Bates turned into a HOFer. I got grief for the trade at the time and see people giving both sides grief. I like it for both good luck to both teams I still prefer to have Bates but that is hilarious

What do you think AD is worth? Serious question btw. The 3rd pick and a couple futures Edit: if there were contract years for GMs

If there were contract years, the Raptors would have to go for it this season. I'm glad they are, can't just tank forever. That has be boring.

That has be boring. Emoni is the best prospect we've had though Still nothing is guaranteed in FBB training camp randomness. Likely, Ermoni will end up being a stud assuming he retains his pot his first (and possibly second) TC while improving significantly but there's always the chance it doesn't work out. Plus it's not like we even know what his true pot is, maybe Rog/Silver designed for him to bust. AD is one of the best players in the league and not even that old...

If the league wants me fired for pushing my chips in and trying to compete so be it, I'll step away in 2 seasons when the Raps get their picks back. It's just funny to me seeing teams that are perpetually at the bottom calling for my head for trading for players that actually win games. Whatever

I also respect frosty saying screw it and going for it

I think it’s an even trade. You’re getting a top 5 player who is going to be paid a lot of money for a juicy prospect. Seems fair to me.
