Love the trade for both. This draft is stacked. I love Smith and probably another top 10 pick for Dr J makes total sense. Takes more than one player to make a team.
High price to move up one spot but to get a possible legend to build around why the fuck not.

worked out perfect for the both of us. Would have preferred to get 1 and then be able to hang onto the mavs pick, but i was desperate to get a guy like Dr J. Hope it works out for both of us

This is a fair deal value-wise, but I don't like it from the perspective of the Mavs. They are always trying to find their franchise player and Dr J was it. Now they'll get two lesser players who will both probably bust given the Mavs draft history/luck and they'll be back where they started in a few more seasons.

I understand why the Mavs did it but it’s also hard to completely tank in this league. Jumping up to get Dr. J would be sweet cornerstone for a team that can use one. McGinnis looks solid, but Dr. J looks like he can be a top 5 player in the league eventually.

Based off what you said Dr J would of flopped based on their luck. C+ shooting is never fun to deal with and Big Mac looks like a stud and Smiths shooting potential is very promising. Also they won't have to try and win and make bad FA/trade decisions as they dont have their pick. So from a prospective i think this is the perfect kind of deal for them as long as they stay patient. |

Dr J needed some sort of stip for his 3 point shot
Had the highest FT % and his turnovers were horrid so Im assuming his 3 point shot is below par, should be a decent defender/rebounder long term but doubt his going to be the type of player you’d want to build a team around, I felt the Rockets overpaid here but guess we’ll see

But unless the Mavs plan on going full tank mode next season they won’t be getting Baugh out of the deal. |
