I’ve been swayed to No. Despite the awards he was never someone who was an elite player nor someone I ever tried to acquire. I do think we have a clean slate here for the HOF and would prefer to keep it limited to just the all time greats thats my thought process. I dont think this is egregious if he makes it in but i think the HoF should be reserved for the absolute best at their positions and guys that everyone wants on their team. Davis/KAT/Emoni/Dieng etc. Theres going to be a lot of bigs that score and rebound a lot i dont think their all HoFers

what would be his closest comp thats in the hall That’s the bigger issue. We haven’t put in any non superstar bigs yet.

Damn, I want to say yes, but its barely a No for me. I feel like he was so underrated and I had him on the big draft article and won it all with him.
I felt because he stayed on the Knicks the whole time might have hurt him cause nobody talked about him as the Gm is very quiet, but constantly one of the more underrated gm's in the league, just you never here from him much, so I think it fits with Lauri as well.

I'm going yes, great scorer and didn't turn it over or hurt you in any area except one. We forgive a lot of things for less, IMO. So saying yes due to being exceptional at his position with the awards to back it up.

Also been swayed to no. Loved that he could score but only third all league 4 times hurts his case while never winning a title. He was very good but not hall of fame elite

I go with yes. 22/11 is pretty amazing numbers and him making the all league team with his limited stock #s is impressive. He is the definition of the stretch 4 and feel he deserves to be in there.

I voted no. Giannis wasn't voted in last year and was a better candidate at the same position imo. Using that as a comparison, I think Markannen would be a step below HOF level

Voting no just because his lack of defense. Hard to be a HOFer at PF with no almost no stocks.

- On top of his ability to score, Markkanen also did extremely well on the boards. In terms of "all time rankings", Lauri likely would find himself in the top 10 on the boards while also being one of, if not the leading scorer amongst big men since the restart. 6th most rebounds in league history 2nd most points for a big man behind Zion

Went No, but it was a tough decision. I think if he had won just one ring, it would change how he is viewed. But no real playoff success means he is on the outside looking in, in my opinion at least.

I'm gonna vote yes. It's actually funny because he has a very similar case to RL Lamarcus Aldridge. www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/aldrila01.html7x Allstar No defensive accolades No All NBA 1st Team No Real Defensive Stats to speak of Basketball Reference has LA at 50.9% chance at HOF and LA's win shares blow a few HOF out of the water.
