This basically a preview of what I'm working on as an Pre-All Star Article. I'll post the PERs of every team's starters to see how they match up with the All Star Selections. A couple of caveats: 1. Since FBB doesn't keep track of Off. Rebounds, I've assumed that 20% of all rebounds are offensive. This is about the average throughout the NBA. Obviously, the %'s are somewhat less for PG's and somewhat more for front court players but 20% is what I've used for our purposes. 2. Fouls, are not included so the PERs will be slightly inflated since fouls are a negative stat. I could go through each team's games and calculate those but...fuck that! 3. "Starters" have been determined by MPG and whenever there was some confusion, I've looked up the last DC used by the team to determine that player's position. If you see something incorrect or have any suggestions, please feel free to post! Name PER Stephon Marbury 31.21 Steve Francis 31.07 Jose Calderon 31.07 Jay Williams* 29.54 Gilbert Arenas 29.51 Andre Miller 27.20 Steve Nash 26.89 Tony Parker 26.05 Devin Harris 24.96 Deron Williams 24.96 Mike Bibby 23.34 Chris Paul 22.95 Kirk Hinrich 22.35 Erick Strickland 22.14 Mo Williams 22.06 Jason Kidd 21.42 Raymond Felton 21.15 Damon Stoudamire 21.10 Jameer Nelson 20.68 Shaun Livingston 20.49 Chauncey Billups 20.26 Gary Payton 19.38 Dimitris Diamantidis 18.29 Marko Jaric 17.63 Delonte West 16.65 Baron Davis 15.27 Frank Williams 14.83 Brevin Knight 14.41 Jacques Vaughn 9.94
*Jay Williams has been injured and has played only about 1/3 of the games (11) that the other PG's have so his numbers are probably a bit less accurate.

Woot - Marbury at the top. I almost traded the dude!
Edit: I also think I just got him for one of my late 1sts and cash. Steal of a deal.

Two surprises for me when I looked over this: 1. Tony Parker had a higher PER than Bibby but that's understandable given the scorers on the Warriors. Parker is basically doing it by himself. 2. Calderon top 3? yourkers15, I can admit when I was wrong and taking Ford (17 PER) before Calderon was a blunder of epic proportions. Also, the more I look over the numbers, the more I'm thinking this will turn into a series of articles. If you guys have any ideas for what you would like to see, post away. I've got internet access, my laptop and time on my hands for the next couple of days.

Also yourkers15: Devin Harris 24.96 Jameer Nelson 20.68 I see. But Nelson still turning out better than most people would of thought. N I did say lets see how he looks next year with one more TC and set of camps.

Gary Payton might keel over and die at the season's end with all the minutes he's forced to play at age 38... definitely need to upgrade the PG position in the offseason

He still wasn't,isn't (or will be?) on Harris' level. 20+/10 kind of player is damn good. N even if he doesn't reach 25+ scorer I still think he will be one of the best PG. but looking at the build of the Pistons he won't need to be a scary good scorer with Lewis and Z-Bo taking care of the scoring load.

Hmmm...on a bad team and still in the bottom third of starting PGs (see Tony Parker)
