Matas Buzelis
A first generation born American, Buzelis grew up with hardworking immigrant parents from Lithuania who have instilled a sense of hardwork and pride in his accomplishments. Buzelis wants to do whatever necessary as a result to become a star. As a player with more of a permiter based game, some scouts think he might be best suited at SF isntead of PF. During his rookie contract, Buzelis can be moved to small forward and gain +2 three point shot, +2 perimeter defense, and +2 passing. However, if a team deems him more needed at power forward, Buzelis can be locked there, retaining his eligibility to backup SF while gaining +5 post defense, +5 shot blocking, and +5 defensive rebounding.
Saulius Stombergas
Saulius has some flaws and will spend 3 seasons overseas, but he wants to prove that he is worth the hype and worth a top pick. If drafted in the top 10, Stombergas will have the ability to put in extra work in one designated category at the choice of the team. There are three categories that Saulius can work on before he comes to the NBN. Rebounding (+2 D rebounding, +2 O rebounding), Defense (+2 post D, +2 per D), or Offense (+1 inside, +1 jump shot, +1 3 pt shot). In the off-season that Saulius is drafted, his new owner must decide which category Stombergas will work on while overseas. This is the ONLY time you get to choose and after that, he will work on only that skill every year until he comes over. For example, if the team who drafts Stombergas wants him to work on rebounding, he will be put into a camp every season overseas and will be given +2 D rebounding and +2 O rebounding (for a total of +6 to each category while overseas). Again, the owner must decide after drafting Saulius which skill he wants him to work on and this cannot change throughout the entirety of his overseas deal. This camp must be posted in spending, will cost $500 each season, and does not count towards camp history.
Kenny "Sky" Walker
Given the nickname Sky for obvious reasons, Kenny Walker can fly. Although he never lived up to the hype in real life, Walker wants to have a second chance and show that he belongs in the league with the big boys. Using his athleticism, every season during his rookie contract that Walker is in the dunk contest, he will be given +3 potential. Any season that he makes it to the finals of a dunk contest, he will be given +5 potential. Any season that he wins the dunk contest, he will be given +10 potential. This is a free claim, but must be posted in spendings after the dunk contest during that specific season.
Steve Kerr
Obviously, Kerr has the high level name due to his recent success as a coach in real life and definitely provided the Bulls with some important shots as a player, but never really was a player that could be relied on night in and night out. Unfortunately, things don't look that much different with his current build. Because he is known for his success and titles as a player/coach, Kerr and his team will be rewarded for winning. For every season during his rookie deal that his team wins 50+ games and makes the playoffs, Kerr will be able to bring the team to a discounted ($1000) Team Improvement camp that does not count against the history. In addition, if at any time during his rookie deal, Kerr's team wins the title, his potential will be set to 100. Neither of these are capped meaning if Kerr's team wins 50+ games and makes the playoffs all 4 years, his team will be rewarded with the discounted improvement camp AND in theory, if his team won the title each season, his potential would be reset to 100 every season during his rookie contract.
Shane Heal
Heal is someone who comes in as an international with not enough buzz. While the athletics may be a serious area of weakness, he has some nice in real life stats when it comes to shooting and defense. On the Brisbane Bullets in the Australian NBL, Heal is 2nd all time in 3 pointers made, 4th all time in free throw percentage, and 8th all time in steals. While it may not translate into NBN, he is willing to work extra hard if a team drafts him earlier than he's projected. If drafted in the top 15, Heal will be able to receive +3 jump shot, +3 3 pt shot, +3 steals, and his potential will be bumped to A.
Hansi Gnad**
Another international, that with these new rules, may end up being completely looked over, Hansi Gnad actually had some success as a german player and was drafted to the Sixers in 1987. Gnad went on to become the German Player of the Year in 1989, but is really known for (at least in my eyes) dominated division 2 basketball in Anchorage, Alaska. Hansi's number 33 is retired at the University of Alaska Anchorage and becuase of this, that number holds a very special place in his heart (and the new GM that drafts him's heart). For every time on his rookie deal (including the 2 years he is overseas), when a player on his team scores exactly 33 points, Hansi will receive +2 potential. This cannot be any more or any less or a combination of more than one player. If more than one player scores exactly 33 points one night, you can only claim one potential boost for that game. Again, this will count for 5 or 6 seasons (his 2 overseas and 3 or 4 during his rookie contract, depending on what round he's drafted). Each potential boost from a game must be posted in the spending thread with a link to the box score proving a teammate of his scored 33 points.
Vincent "The Fiddler" Askew
Having played for 17 different teams in 12 years between NBA, D-League, and over seas, Askew knows what it's like to be on the move quite often. But, that being said, Askew wants a place that he can call home and can build a sense of comradery with his teammates. Askew will show his gratitude if you do and will help be a crucial team player. Every two years Askew stays on the same team, you can claim a free team improvement camp ignoring camp history. Every 6 years Askew stays on the same team, the boosts of the team improvement camp you claim will be quadrupled.
Danny Manning
"What does David bring to a basketball court that I don't? I'm clearly the better player." Wow. What a quote from Danny Manning, who's arguably barely the third-best big-man prospect in the draft. But if you ask him, he thinks he's by far and away from the best prospect in the draft. If Danny Manning is selected #1, Danny can claim a free +5 in potential and a free +10 in any attributes you want, with a max of +5 per attribute. If he isn't selected #1, he's going to make sure he works as hard as possible to beat Robinson during their career. For however many spots Manning is selected after Robinson, Manning can claim that number in a free camp to his potential and one single attribute. So if he is selected 5 picks after Robinson, he will gain a free +5 in potential and one attribute of your choice. Finally, any time Manning out-scores or out-rebounds Robinson in any game they play during their rookie contract, he can claim a free +2 to any atribute.
Derrick Gervin
Brother of Bucks, Rockets, Heat, Wizards, and now Spurs legend George Gervin, Derrick's looking to use some of the newfound clout to continue his basketball career after a very solid collegiate stint at UTSA. Gervin's not going to wow you in any situation but he will rise up to the occasion when he's against his brother. Every time Derrick's team beats George's team (regular season and playoffs), he'll earn a claimable +5 to any attribute. If Derrick's on the team that knocks off George in the playoffs AND plays in at least one game in the series, any camps he receives in the following season will be doubled.
Mike Smrek
Growing up on the farm, Smrek didn't start playing basketball until he was nearly 16 but coming in at 7'0, 250, there's a reason he's been able to make it this far. Smrek always feels like he's the odd one out of the bunch with his height and it's caused him some insecurities over time. Smrek even mentioned that he "would love to play next to guys his size" a couple times in his pre-draft interviews, and it's rumored that he'd really benefit from playing with some guys of his height. If Smrek finds his way onto a roster with 2 or more players of 7'1" or taller, he'll be eligible to receive 2 free +3 boosts to any attribute (potential, athletics included) free of charge. This is ONLY claimable at the END OF THE YEAR after Sim 24, so the 7'1"+ players must be on your roster to end the season.
Dan Majerle
Thunder Dan came into the league being known for his outstanding dunks and leaping ability. He was also an excellent defender earning 2 all defense awards early in his career. Wanting to be more well rounded this go around, if Thunder Dan makes either an all defense team OR the slam dunk contest during his rookie contract, he’ll earn a +5 to 3pt or Jump Shot. Claimable each time he meets the criteria.
David "The Admiral" Robinson
More mature than players of similar age, Robinson is planning to serve in the navy before coming over in two seasons. The team that drafts him does hope to get him in the off-season to integrate him into the team for chemistry's sake. Given his maturity, Robinson can perform a special mentor camp on any player younger than him in the off seasons he is serving still. The camp will cost $1500 and can be given to a player twice in an off season and total. Each camp will provide the player Robinson mentors +3 inside scoring, +3 shot blocking, +3 defensive rebounding, and +3 potential. This will count toward season limits on camps, so it will substitute with an improvement camp. Player mentored by David Robinson can still be regular mentored per limits of other mentor camp.
Isaac Nogues
At 25 and not quite ready to start, Nogues needs quick development rather than potential for future TCs. Whatever he earns from experience in his rookie year, instead of potential you can choose to use it for any rating. If he maxes out his experience(earning a +5) he is also eligible for a free improvement camp(free of cost and career limits, supercamps not allowed).
Mark Jackson
One of the smartest players in this class, Jackson is a team player first but also needs to improve his own game to help his team. Instead of camping him separately, he can hitch a ride on any camp(two per season limit, no supercamp eligibility) any player on his team gets sent to free of charge. For an additional $1k per camp he and the player being camped will work extra hard post practice and Jackson will receive +2 handling, +2 passing and the other player will receive +2 jump shot and +2 3 point shot. Jackson has no 85 limit on his passing.
