Artis Gilmore, a THREE-TIME Defensive Player of the Year and one of the better bigs in league history, retired after 1,439 games of high-level defensive play with a keen ability to rebound and even get buckets from time to time. Will this be enough for him to get into the NBN Hall of Fame?

Arguments For Induction
- I mean, let's just start it off with the 3x Defensive Player of the Year, 1x Playoff MVP with Miami in 2029, 8x All-League Teams, 4x All-Defensive Teams, and 6x All-Star appearances. For a guy who wasn't always necessarily ELITE offensively, his ability to score, rebound, grab boards, pass, get stocks, and just all around help his team was incredibly impressive. He was truly an iconic big man.
- He was a key member of three title teams and regularly found himself as one of the league's best rebounders, near the top of the list for what felt like half or more of his career, while also being a guaranteed 4+ stock player for like 15 years. Special.
- I think it's underrated but in the first half of his career, he was nearly as good of an offensive scorer in terms of efficiency that we had in terms of bigs outside of the elite of the elites, while also being an elite defender, rebounder... it's kind of tough to even argue against him because of all the positives.
Arguments Against Induction
- He had some turnover problems from time to time throughout his career, but honestly, at 2.2 TOPG for his career it's not like it really mattered when he wasn't relied upon to put up 1100+ shots per season.
- Gilmore's end of his career definitely made his stats look less impressive. They're special, truly. At the end of 2036 (a year he lead the league in RPG and BPG), he was a career average 16/14/4.2 stocks on 45% from the field, which is about as good as the non-elite offensive players get. The end of his career was not always pretty and he played for a long time, but I find it hard to hold it against him.
- No POTWs, POTMs, and not an overwhelming amount of POTG awards either makes him look like a role player rather than the star his actual game portrayed.
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $100 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $100***
