I thought it would be fun to look through the league and throw out some potential trade ideas. Yourkers gave me some as well that I’ve included. Firstoff, looking through each roster, this is what I was trying to accomplish
76ers – Personally don’t think they need to make any move
Wizards – Use cap space + large expirings of Kuzma/Deni to find a SF upgrade for cheap (maybe use a pick or 2) or find a big man upgrade (AD?)
Celtics – Thin out some of their big man depth for asset or guards/wings
Nets – Only really have Mobley/Rupert as assets and think they may just hold onto both
Magic – Move Kawhi and open up playing time for Cody Williams. Find a guard upgrade
Heat – They don’t have their pick. Personally I’d try and move one of Bam or AD to fill out the rest of the roster
Knicks – Consolidate big men. Find a SF upgrade
Raptors – Don’t think they need any moves right now
Hawks – Find a 2nd big. I know Van wants to keep his salary low, so would need to use Black as the salary. Maybe adapt Walter to supersub 1-3
Pacers – Need a 2nd big and depth overall. Think Quickley is a bit of a luxury, but also their only depth piece
Pistons – Move one of the bigs for wing help
Hornets – Move Fultz for help elsewhere and give his playing time to Proctor. Have some assets with Rooths/Smith/Proctor too
Pelicans – Roster is bare
Bucks – Need another big man starter. Could potentially move Ingram if the assets are right
Cavs – Roster is bare
Grizz – I’ve been trying for 2 weeks to find a trade that makes sense.
Spurs – Go big. They have Murphy/Reid ready to win and have the most expendable assets of any team in the league. Reed/Joe are cheap guard options.
Mavs – Move one of their 4 worthwhile players for multiple pieces
Nuggets – Rebuild. Get what you can for Porter/Murray. Try and sell Jokic for rebuild assets
Wolves – They need a 2nd big and depth overall
Rockets – I really don’t know what to do with this roster
Jazz – Find a deal for Luka
Suns – Find a SF upgrade
Kings – SG upgrade. Have all of their picks and a couple of big man prospects/vet expiring bigs to move
Blazers – Move one of their 3 SGs for a big
Lakers – Try and upgrade one of their bigs. Find a SF upgrade
Clippers – Sell Trae and tank another year. See what you can get for veteran bigs
Warriors – Have already sold off any vets
Thunder – See if you can get cash for Beal
Trade #1
Knicks send: Charles Bassey, Max Strus, $250
Bucks send: Lugentz Dort
This is a deal we’ve been talking about for days. Bucks want $250 so they can camp Thornton and really need another big. Dort is a big of a luxury on the roster. Knicks could use the defense upgrade that Dort provides over Strus and they don’t need Bassey
Trade #2
Hawks send: Anthony Black, 2027 Hawks 1st
Celtics send: Mitchell Robinson
Celtics have too many bigs and are currently playing Caleb Wilson at SF. They get an asset for one of their FA signings. Hawks really need a 2nd big. Don’t; think they’ll miss Black and the pick should be non-lotto after the Tatum trade. Mitchell signed on a decent deal for Van
Trade #3
Wizards send: Tyler Herro, $500, 2027 Wizards 1st,
Magic send: Kawhi Leonard
Wiz need the SF upgrade and Herro is currently in a reserve role. Rog needs a guard upgrade and gets an asset back for Kawhi and sheds $25mil in cap. Could also ask for Kuzma in the deal
Trade #4
Pacers send: Immannuel Quickley
Pistons send: Naz Reid, Ben Simmons, Josh Green
Like I mentioned the Pacers need a big. They get another shooting big next to Turner and Simmons can provide backup at multiple spots. Pistons really need another scoring punch and he could be backup 1-2
Trade #5
Wizards send: Kyle Kuzma, 2027 Wizards 1st
Nuggets send: Michael Porter
I really like this trade for both teams. Nuggets get an asset for a player they don’t need and help them tank. Wiz get a SF upgrade without really giving up anything of value
Trade #6
Spurs send: Xavier Booker, Collin Sexton, 2027 Bucks 1st, 2027 Spurs 1st
Nuggets send: Nikola Jokic
Time to rebuild for Nuggets. They get the #6 pick this year. A likely good lotto pick in the Bucks pick and idk where the Spurs pick would end up. Maybe they can get a future pick in here. For Spurs they still have Pettiford, Reid, Murphy and have some value contracts and are ready to make some noise. Doesn’t sacrifice their future at all
Trade #7
Spurs send: Xavier Booker, Tahaad Pettiford, 2027 Bucks 1st, 2027 Spurs 1st
Jazz send: Luka Doncic
Same as above. Jazz need to rebuild if they can’t put a roster around Luka. As deal as above but swapping out Sexton for Pettiford to give the Jazz an additional asset. Maybe a future pick also
Trade #8
Blazers send: Malik Monk
Kings send: Day’Ron Sharpe, 2027 Kings 1st
Kings need another guard after losing Monk to FA. Blazers have a glut of guards and could use a big and get an asset
Trade #9
Magic send: Kawhi Leonard
Clippers send: Trae Young
Clippers would probably end up flipping Kawhi after getting him. Not sure if Holland received a mentor camp or not. For Magic they need a PG upgrade and allows Cody Williams to start
Trade #10
Heat send: Anthony Davis, Tobias Harris
Bucks send: Dame Lillard, Lugentz Dort
Bucks have playable guards and really need a big. Heat get a good guard and a playable wing piece. Get out of Davis contract for next season to give them cap space for next season
Trade #11
Thunder send: Bradley Beal
Jazz send: John Collins, Cap Space, $300
If Jazz keep Luka they might as well use their cap space and acquire a player with it. Get Beal for a few hundred in cash
I’m going to continue to look at this today to thing of more trade ideas.
Yourkers trade ideas
