The 34th nominee for the NBN Hall of Fame was a sharpshooter. He could score with the best in the league. The question is did he do anything else that made him stand out as a legend? Lets take a look at Jesus Shuttleworth's candidacy.

Arguments For Induction
- Allen won three 3 Point Shootouts, played in three All-Star games and was named to two All-League Third Teams, all in a six year stretch to open the league.
- Every argument for Allen begins with the fact that he was a lights out shooter, and by extension a great scorer. For his career he averaged 22.5 points a game, and as of last year was 31st in points, though that number was probably quite a bit higher when he retired. He was also 10th in 3 pointers made, and shot a sizzling 44.1% from that range for his career. Hell he should have scored more given his 47.2/90.8/44.1 slash line, shoot more Ray, shoot more.
- Allen was a good to great passer in his career for a shooting guard, averaging 3.6 assists and being over 4 a few times in his career.
- As well as being a good offensive player, Ray Allen was a solid, if unspectacular defensive player. He averaged 1.6 steals and carried an A- defensive grade into his final year, clearly showing he was a good defender until the end.
- Allen was a perfectly ideal shooting guard in this league. In his prime he gave you 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.7 steals and really never turned it over. There isn't much more you can ask from a guy who is a straight up sniper and did other things well.
Arguments Against Induction
- Not enough awards. I repeat: NOT. ENOUGH. AWARDS.
- Also no title, and really outside of his first five seasons was never really a player on the big stage. And you have to wonder why his Sonics teams never won titles with him on it, given the talent. Probably nothing to do with Allen, but a more elite shooting guard wouldn't have hurt.
- Really bad rebounder, like horrible. I said six above and that was pushing it. He averaged 5.3 for his career, and for a shooting guard you want at least 6, and even then that is a bit low. Just hurts if you don't have an above average rebounding point guard or elite rebounding bigs, just another thing you have to make sure you build around.
- While a good scorer, could you ever call Ray Allen an elite one? I don't think so just looking at the numbers.
- Was kind of injury prone, missed 92 games for his career. Not the worst, but not ideal at all to have your starting 2 guard miss an average of 8 games a year.
- Just overall, you have to ask, when in his prime did anyone fear playing Allen in the playoffs? Was he a guy you looked at and was like, wow the Sonics really have a superstar. When the game doesn't think you're a top 3 player but twice in your career, is that a guy you can induct into the Hall of Fame?
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully!
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
