The 39th nominee of the NBN Hall of Fame and last from the 2013 class is Vince Carter. One of the most athletic, gifted players in league history Carter forged a legacy in his 15 seasons on the league. There is little doubt he is a Hall of Famer, the question is, is he the best wing player of all time?

Arguments For Induction
- Starting minor and working our way up, Carter won three dunk contests and should be known as one of, if not the most athletic player of all time. He also won two 3-Point shootouts proving he wasn't just athletics but skill as well. He also played in nine All-Star Games, and only missed others mainly due to injuries. Carter was named to four All-Defensive Second teams, proving his defensive prowess. And finally he was named to two All-League Third, three Second, and three first teams. Incredible.
- Carter was one of, if not the best pure scorer in league history. Only Durant, T-Mac, and maybe Webber even come close to his scoring abilities. He averaged 28.3 points a game and never averaged under 21.7 a game. And barring his first two seasons never averaged under 26 a game either. He finished 4th in points for his career and would have been higher had he not missed 151 games in his career. The volume was incredible but so was the efficiency. He shot 47.1% from the field for his career, just a scoldering number and in his prime he was almost always above 47.5%. He even had years above 48%. He also shot it well from three, hitting 41.7% of those and always being over 42 in his peak. He finished 4th in three pointers again proving his volume and efficiency were unmatched.
- As if not wanting one aspect of his game to not be better than the other, Vince was arguably just as good of a defender as he was a scorer. He had 4 nominations for All-Defense team, but as said previously for a wing those are hard to consistently come. He did have over 3 stocks, including a crazy 2.1 career steals a game average for his career, finishing 9th in steals all-time. He also carried an A- or higher rating for all of his career proving he was just as good positionally as he was getting stocks.
- Again, not for one area to be outdone, he was a world-class rebounder for a 2. Hell he is an above average rebounder if he had played the 3 most of his career, averaging 7.6 for his career but always in the 8.5 range for his peak. Again considering he played shooting guard, those numbers are crazy good.
- Lastly on the "can't top this" aspect of his game, he was a phenomenal passer. He averaged 4.3 a game for his career and was consistently approaching 5 a game. Combined with his relatively low turnover rate, and Carter not only scored well, he was flat out a complete offensive player.
- Carter is one of those guys you look at their case and say, this is one of the GOATs. Its hard to make a case against because realistically there isn't a case against. Carter is a Hall of Famer. He even won two titles, both with the 76ers. Its inarguable that Carter is a Hall of Famer. He is a flat out lock. He did everything you'd need him to do at a legendary, not just elite but legendary, rate. This was a guy you feared playing in the playoffs, or at all. True legend, and only question is if he is the greatest wing of all time(before Childress and Durant inevitably pass him up).
Argument Against
- Only won two titles, had many other chances why couldn't his teams get it done. Did he choke some of those chances away? Hard to say he was a playoff performer when he only has 2 titles.
- Missed over 150 games, good for about 11 a year. You can't have your Hall of Fame wing missing that much time can you?
- Played for 5 teams, kind of a lot for a legend is it not?
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully!
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
