The 54th nominee of the NBN Hall of Fame, Dwyane Wade is potentially a top 5 shooting guard of all time, the stats show that. Do the other things, like his lack of a title, show flaws that could keep him out of the Hall of Fame or is he a lock and we're discussing not Hall of Fame chances but how high up on a All-Time list he is? Lets take a look at the numbers.

Arguments for Induction
- Wade played in 8 All-Star Games over the course of his career and won some hardware during All-Star Weekend winning a Rookie/Soph game MVP. On top of that, two All-Defensive second team and six first teams. He was named to He was named to 5 All-League third teams and 2 All-League firsts teams to round it out.
- Its tough to start where Wade was the greatest so lets talk about his passing first to switch it up. He may have been the best passing shooting guard in league history. He averaged a pretty crazy 4.9 assists a game, and was almost always over 5 in his peak years. Thats the elite of the elite for shooting guards.
- He very easily could have been the best defensive shooting guard ever as well. He averaged 3.2 stocks a game for his career, including over 1 block a game at the shooting guard position. And even at 34 the year before he retired he held an A rating defensively, proving he was as great on ball as he was at generating stats. Incredible.
- It would be a shame to not talk about his offense, which is what gains a guy his fame. He was a 30 point scorer certain years, scoring 27.4 a game for his career, over 30 three times including 2 of his final 3 years, and was over 29 five total years. He was also pretty efficient at putting the ball in the hoop as well, 48.1//88.6/41.6 line is about as good as you can ask from a guy with the volume that Wade had.
- Wade was that type of guy that everyone wanted, a true superstar. He gave you 28 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.3 steals, 1 block on some crazy good percentages. When you ask, was this a guy you feared in the playoffs, Wade was emphatically yes because he could beat you in literally every facet of the game. He was incredibly durable missing only 39 games in 13 years. He was everything you'd need, this is a serious no brainer.
Arguments Against Induction
- A product of his early retirement, but he didn't really have a lot of awards for a "lock" hall of famer did he? Just over half of his career, and none of it really blameable on injuries. Great player, but for whatever reason wasn't considered a top 3 player at his position 6 of the 13 years of his career.
- Had a pretty decent sized turnover issue, averaging over 3 a game for his career and hitting as high as 4.1 in his rookie season. Tough to build a winning team with a guy who turns it over that much.
- Average rebounder, not really a huge issue just doesn't help his case.
- Overall, you have to wonder what was wrong with him. Those Warriors teams were really good and Wade was their best player. Why couldn't they get it done? Was it his turnovers? Something else? The stats are there, its hard to argue and its hard to make any case he isn't a Hall of Famer. But I think the wonders about his title issues combined with his short career, hanging it up in the middle of him still putting up crazy numbers is enough to keep him from being a top 3, if not top 5, shooting guard of all time.
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully!
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25**
