The 137th nominee of the NBN Hall of Fame ended his career abruptly at the age of 34, while still rocking B+ inside, A defense, and A rebounding. John Schommer displayed dominance as a big for a long chunk of his career, being a valuable member of every roster he was on until the very end. Did he do enough to get the nod into the Hall?

Arguments For Induction
- Schommer was the poster-boy big for a good half decade plus, posting 22.8 or more points per game and over 12 rebounds near the end of his career. Schommer was the subject of a lot of mediocrity throughout his career, playing on more non-playoff teams than playoff-teams throughout his 15 year career, and still managed to put up great numbers.
- Schommer never had a "downfall" where he just wasn't a useful player. Even in his final season, Schommer put up 13/11 as a super-sub bench role for the Pacers.
- Above average free throw shooter for a big, but surprisingly never took a three over his career. Schommer knew his bread and butter was 15 feet and in.
- Great rebounder for a while, grabbing over 11,000 in his career.
Arguments Against Induction
- Longevity is lacking in terms of "high end" ability. He had five or six great seasons, and the rest were him fighting with other stars to get enough shots up. Schommer had multiple seasons under 1,200 shots, which is under 15 per game.
- Mediocre GMs/inactivity may have hurt him towards the middle/end of his career. Could've had a very dominant career if he didn't have multiple seasons under 25 minutes per game.
- Stocks are struggling heavily for a big. Two per game is okay, but nothing special.
- If Schommer gets in, there's a lot of other bigs who need to be looked back at and pondered as if they are Hall of Famers. Might not have a tight enough case to get enough yes votes to get in.
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
