The crown jewel of the 2027 draft along-side Vern Mikkelsen, George Mikan is the first to retire from the class. Mikan's career was tremendous, and although he didn't win a Championship, his stats stand for themselves. Will these stats be enough for him to get into the NBN Hall of Fame?

Arguments For Induction
- Mikan brought the Jazz out of years of despair, becoming one of the league's best rebounders in the history of the NBN. Mikan never dipped under 10.7 RPG, putting up 12 or higher 12 seasons in a row including multiple 14+ RPG seasons. 

- While his scoring dipped at the end of his career, Mikan put up some incredible statistic seasons. Multiple seasons over 22 PPG, and then 10 over 15+ PPG. Even as a non option, Mikan put up some fantastic numbers and some really, really good lines.

- Multiple time All-Leaguer, even finding himself on the All-Defensive team in 2034. 721 double doubles later, Mikan's up for the Hall of Fame.

Arguments Against Induction
- No championships will make this case a bit closer than it should've been. Mikan came into the league as one of the most highly touted prospects in the history and it's surprising that he never won a ring, although he spent most of his career on the Jazz.

- He wasn't an incredible passer and turned the ball over a good bit. Career average of 1.9 TOPG, while only getting 3.3 APG didn't help especially considering he wasn't always an option. 

- Not the most efficient shooter. .433/.738 isn't really super exciting, and while he shot a ton over his career, you would've hoped for better numbers out of a big.

Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.

Yes he's got enough awards and was good enough at his peak to get in. He was always a player I'd want on my team. Though I will say his career is a little disappointing, you'd expect more from him coming into the league

I don't think the numbers met up with the hype of him coming into the league, but the numbers he did have are HOF worthy. As mentioned, he brought the Jazz into contention for many years, though the title did elude him in the end. It's a yes.

Had some impressive Seasons but fell as though he just didnt put up enough of them to get into the HOF, a excellent rebounder and solid defender but I think ge unfortunately just falls short but only just, he had some major talent around him in the Jazz which I think might have cost him getting bigger scoring numbers as well

Pretty close but had a lot of awards and 4 seasons over 14 rebounds and 3 blocks makes him just good enough to sneak into the HOF in my estimation

I think this was a tough vote, but I’m going to say yes because of his awards. He was a good rebounder and shot blocker.

I’m torn on this and can still be swayed. I feel like he’s right on the border. His peak was great and the fact he hit the ground running as a rookie was impressive. I’ll go for yes for right now.

No, he started off looking like a HOF level player, but never really took the next step. He had some nice years but only 4 seasons above 3 blocks or 14 rebounds along with slowly deteriorating offensive game his entire career mean he doesn't get in if you ask me. Maybe if he was on good teams then my opinion would change, but was never on a serious title contender from what I can remember.

Yes - he was a dominant big in the league long enough to accumulate the stats needed.

I voted no, but hesitantly. He played a long career and racked up a solid amount of accolades but I don't think he makes it into the best of all time category. He is one of those fringe guys that might sneak in due to a weaker class of HOF elects around him, but I think he fell short of expectations overall and never accomplished anything noteworthy that makes me want to vote him in.
