Arguments For Induction
- Dominant prime, no doubt. 22.4, 26.9, 29.9, 26.0, 24.1, 27.6, 28.0, 29.6, 27.9, 28.1, 31.6, 23.0 scoring averages over more than a decade's worth of games.

- No glaring faults on top of a championship. Newhouse won while being an integral part of every team he was ever on. 

- Longevity helps too. From 2028-2041, he played under 70 games just one time and was a dominant athletic specimen until his career was over. 

Arguments Against Induction
- Lacking awards and achievements. 96 POTG, 1 POTW, 0 POTM's, 64 DD's, 0 TD's, and frankly, probably the lightest awards we've seen in a while from a candidate with a legitimate chance.

- While he didn't do anything WRONG necessarily, he wasn't an overwhelming talent outside of his scoring ability. 

- Frankly, before seeing the awards, his case looks great, but it's going to be tough to really rationalize putting him into the HoF without awards. Very similar to other candidates we've had recently.

Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.

Gonna go yes as a Sonic, but I would be very willing as the person who runs HoF to induct him as a "teamless" Hall of Famer if that's the case after voting.

Again he’s tough but since I went No on Vick, I’m going no here. He does have the championship that Vick didn’t get, but only 1 all star game isn’t HOF worthy. He was a great scorer and a good defender, but never really top 2-3 at his position.

Immediately want to vote yes on him and I almost did without really looking. Dude was amazing, that 11 year stretch where 9 of those 11 he was over 26 points per game were incredible. Really amazing. He even won a title in that stretch. But I guess, you look and he didn't really do much else. He wasn't a great defender, couldn't rebound, didn't pass the ball well. He scored well and thats about it. He also has almost no awards, which is a red flag but thats partially due to ticky tacky injuries that cost him 7-10 games every year almost. Still, its an issue despite the games flaws. Thing that makes me vote no though is his lack of counting stats on top of the other two issues. Even his scoring is only in the 50s. Just don't love him enough after looking harder to vote yes, so my vote is no.

Definitely agree with the room here. It’s close because he was a star like scorer for a long time, but that was his only skill. Much like Vick he was a scoring machine that never developed a well rounded enough game to become a superstar. I’m voting no due to lack of accolades and awards mainly mixed with a one dimensional, although elite, skill set.

So initially I definitely said yes but when I looked at his stats even in his prime he had basically a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio and I think combined with the lack of awards that sealed it for me. He is basically Monta Ellis in his prime and he doesn't get in for me. He could definitely be the best scorer on a championship team but would need a lot of support from his teammates to win a championship with how one dimensional he is. So no for me

I think he deserves it. Great scorer. Put up some amazing numbers!

I'm voting yes. While everyone is looking at the low rebounds and assists totals, and the fact he only ranks 55th in career points (which points more to a longevity issue than an ability to score), he has one of the highest averages of any Hall of Fame candidate. And his shooting percentages were close to elite (90% plus from the line and 43% from long range). Other than the low assist totals, he's exactly what I would want from my shooting guard - a high average scorer on excellent percentages. This should be an easier yes than people are giving him credit for. FBB's love of the assist is probably the biggest reason for the lack of awards.

I really wanted to vote yes since he was a great player on our team for awhile and I think people underestimated how good he was. But in the end I just don't think he was HOF level.

I'm voting yes here pretty easily. He wasn't an amazing rebounder or passer, but he wasn't awful either. He was also a perfectly fine defender, averaging over 2 steals six different times in his career. Plus he has a championship. Not sure what everyone else isn't seeing, but I'm seeing a HOFer.
