I was starting to do my EOS Award picks and was really curious to see where Dick Barnett stood in the league. He's been someone I've been super high on the past 4 seasons and wanted to see if my fandom was warranted. I decided to turn it into an article/ranking.
Here are everyone's stats/rankings for this season:

I decided to turn the stats into a per 36 ranking and assign everyone a total 1-10 for each category to come up with some type of total ranking. I know this is arbitrary, but thought it was a fun exercise. I didn't really use it to determine my rankings, but did look to it when I was looking at some tiebreakers.

1. Richie Guerin
Richie is having another All-NBN type of season but won’t make it because he’s only played 47 games after just coming back from a long injury. This is one of his best seasons of his career and the highest FG% to date. He’s had a few better points per game seasons, but this ranks among his career highs. He’s really good in every area and the only place you’d like to see some improvement is the 1.4 steals, but he more than makes up for it with the 1 block. It’s just unfortunate that once again a year of his prime was wasted.

2. Sergei Belov
Another staple of this list who has also missed a good portion of the season due to injury. Belov has widely been considered the best SG in the league for the past half-decade or so. His defense/rebounding/turnover numbers remain the same, but his efficiency is down compared to years pasts which has resulted in the 2nd lowest PPG total since his sophomore year. It’s fair to wonder if age and decline has set in or if this is just an injury riddled season and he can bounce back to a 30ppg, 49% scorer.

3. Dick Barnett
He was named to his first all-star game in his first season as a starter and I’m expecting him to get an All-NBN team award as well. His offense has been as expected shooting 49% from the field and 3pt and was above 50% for most of the season. He’s adequate defensively and is an above average passer. He’s tremendous with the ball though, with only 1.2 turnovers a game, 2nd lowest of the top 10. What I’ve been really intrigued by is the 1.9 steals which are by far a career high. He’s always had the ratings, but they never translated into the box score until this season. His B defensive rating is buoyed by his lack luster athleticism, but he definitely has the ratings of a good defender.

4. Frank Selvy
I toyed with having Selvy as high as #1 on the list when I was factoring in games played for Guerin/Belov. He’s a great scorer and generates a ton of steals, but the lack of rebounding is an issue. He’s a full 2 rebounds (and to a lesser extend assists) below the next lowest on the list. His 49% FG is the 2nd highest of his career and depending on how the game handles his lack of rebounds, he could earn his first All-NBN team award this season.

5. Jalen Green
I initially had him higher and think he could still be #4. He’s really good across the board. This is his most efficient season by a decent margin, but hasn’t really translated to the point total. A lot of his probably has to do with playing next to Nico. He’s only a B+ defender, but is among the best in generating steals and blocks. His main knock remains the 3 turnovers a game. A lack of turnovers are something that I really value in this league and that’s what really knocks him down a spot or 2 here. He has a great chance to land on both the All-Defensive and All-NBN team this season.

6. Bobby McDermott
It feels like we are going to see a passing of the torch at SG with a lot of the top guys on this list in the early 30s and showing small signs of decline. The things that have made McDermott great have held firm this year, which is his efficiency, steals and lack of turnovers. He’s shown some signs of decline in rebounding and a full 2 ppg decline though. I think his scoring is still good enough that he has a decent change to land on a 3rd straight All-NBN award.

7. Anfernee Simons
Anfernee remains consistent for another season. His FG% is down just a bit, but otherwise he’s doing the same thing he’s done for the past 3 years. He’s not the pure scorer he was when he was winning titles in Boston, but he remains on the cusp of being a top 5 SG in the league.

8. Miki Berkovich
9. Sam Jones
10. Sid Tanenbaum
I had trouble ranking the last 3 in any real order and feel there’s a bit of a drop off after Simons this season. I had trouble putting Miki 8th when he’s not even at 20ppg (yes I know its 19.9), but I just love the 2.8 steals. Sam Jones just isn’t efficient enough to have higher than this, even though he’s a great defender in his own right. Sid is the best pure scorer of the 3, but is also the worst defender and has the highest turnovers. His 3pt% is also the lowest of the 3. I settled on this order, but really think they could go in any direction. I am the most surprised by how low Miki is on the list this season. His 3pt% is the highest of his career, but the drop in PPG total is tough to swallow.
