The value here is fair enough, but my eyebrows raise whenever I see a team sending multiple future 1sts, especially a new GM sending every single first they have available. I think it's a valid strategy, but we've also had four long time GMs express concern that this might not be best for the long term health of the league. I think that vetoing trades isn't good for the long term health of the league, but I also can't completely ignore the concerns of everyone else. I've been commish long enough to know how easy it is for GMs to bail on a league that they are not at all invested in, and as commish it is my responsibility to protect the league from that happening if possible to maintain the integrity of the league for everyone involved.
I see it both ways on this issue, so I am passing this trade with one stipulation to ease the minds of all the long term GMs who see this as a possible opportunity for a new guy to throw a franchise in the dumpster and bail. I'm sure it will never need to come to this, but if SARGO leaves the league or becomes inactive then any remaining firsts from this trade that are on the Grizzlies roster will be returned to the Hawks. I hate getting involved in trades usually, but this is a pretty extreme circumstance and I think this is the best we can do to give all teams sufficient autonomy and protect the future of the league in the unlikely event that this results in a dead team.
