Raptors Send Jurkic Nukric
Lakers Send Wendel Carter Pascal Siakam $750
I accept. Gets me under the HC, keeps me competitve next year and allows me to offer MLE and worry less about salary and more about finding fits. Hate moving from Carter but with very little interest and time only making me more prone to need to take a lesser deal, this works out.

Huge bailout. Would of expected more than a simple 750 cash.
Nurk is not that much different than Carter and he only had to send a small amount of cash to get under the HC.

It’s a bailout but I think Carter is a bit better than Nurk. He’s still young and Nurk could decline in TC being 33. Raptors are better and get a nice mentor for Dino/Hayes

Carter is quite a bit better IMO and 5 years older, with 3 years left on his deal. Lets not forget I'm also bailing the Raptors out a bit given his current cash situation. It was a perfect fit, getting under the HC for me and getting some cash and somehow an upgrade for the Raptors. Makes perfect sense.

You and me both know cash is easy to make Plus Nurk held down Carter when it came playoff time. My point is it is very rare for someone to get a very good talent back while getting under the cap. In general if this was more like you were close to the hc and made a move like this I would totally get it. But 16 mill of the cap I would of expected at least a pick back in the deal as well or more cash. I also don't like the fact it was that easy for you to do. People should of made you sweat it out and force you not to be able to resign LBJr because it put you over the cap. Then again I am ultra competitive and I have to see you come playoff time.

But Carter is easily better, statistically and age and everything. Raptors were good this year, got better for next year, shed 2 years of a potentially bad deal to take on 21 million in salary and got 750 in cash. Not sure where you are coming for, I paid a premium IMO. Not to mention Siakam was my 6th man and the times he got hurt we didn't play well at all and now I need to replace him with like 5 million in space and only 8 guys on the roster. Still not out of the woods here lol

Still not out of the woods here lol I'm not saying he isn't better I'm saying most people don't get a talent back when they have to get under the hard cap. Yes you took a downgrade but Nurk is still a very good talent. Usually when over the hardcap people have to give away players plus something on top because that's how it is. Signing LBJr put you over the hardcap. So my thinking is if you dont get under the hardcap that LBJr should go back into the pool. Sure frost would much rather hold onto Nurk and have a shot at LBJr. Maybe I am just an out of box thinker.
