I think I was getting Payton at a good price, and I’ll take the sure thing which is why I made the trade and forgo FA. I’d prefer an expiring deal for the way my roster is setup than sign a long term FA. I think the trade committee is failing to look at the cap space that the Nets open up. He now has ~50mil in cap. If he signs Trae/Murray/Ayton/Maravich or whoever there is no loss there. If he brought in 2 mid level FAs just say Luyk/Maledon is anyone vetoing
Maledon/Luyk/McMillian/Carter/1st for Pritchard?
Pritchard is a tier 2 PG. Hes no better or worse than Murray, Young, Morant, Askew, Mannion. And frankly I’d probably take all of them over Pritchard despite what Silvers ranking says

I am not reworking anything. I learned a lesson it's better to just not trade and watch and learn value.

Then you pivot and make another move like I’m going to? Use your cap space to obtain assets. It’s a risky move but it’s not like you are stuck without options. It’s fine to veto it. I have other options that I’m fine going with. I just think the whole picture wasn’t taken into account and the consistency is lacking. To say this is the worst trade since Feb (at least last deal I found find that was vetoed)) is a stretch.

I think the veto comes from the GM being relatively new to the league as well. If you have proven to stick around then I am sure we are more lenient on what is allowed to go through. But a new GM to the league without much experience on value for players here probably gets a shorter leash. I don't think this is the worst trade since the last veto, I just think it is a combo of the value + him being relatively new to the league IMO. I wouldn't have complained if it went through, the pick and players aren't ideal but he does clear cap as well which adds value to the deal for him.

It's just a weird trade. Why trade Pritchard without getting Bradley, who has the best contract in the league or Haynes?
I guarantee that he won't find better value than Bradley in Free agency and he's starting caliber.

Id rather have Bradley + 30mil in cap space than Pritchard. Which doesn’t seem be taken into account

Look at almost every vetoed deal in league history, they are almost always a new GM making a questionable deal. This isn't the worst deal since Feb, no but I'd bet it's close to the worst deal by a brand new GM since Feb.

This deal is officially vetoed. I didn't have to vote, but if I would have I probably would have made it unanimous. This move just does not make sense for a team who just traded away a future 1st. Prichard might not be the 4th best PG in the league, and he might not duplicate his numbers from last season, but he's still a great player and new GMs shouldn't be trading away future picks AND great players on the same day.
Even if this isn't objectively the worst deal in recent memory, it's a new GM and those deals will always have more scrutiny. I know it's frustrating to have hard worked negotiations go for nothing - but this is the entire purpose of the trade committee. And in general and I think the league as a whole can agree that while it may not be perfect, it's better than nothing.

Won't lie based off the responses in here I didn't expect it to get vetoed. Then knowing I have their pick next year I had a feeling it would. Bradley/Hayes in the deal and it easily passes but those players who came in the deal had zero value so I get it.
