Andrew Gaze
Lost in the declarations from Magic, Unseld is NBL Rookie of the Year Andrew Gaze. Gaze is already well versed in playing against older players and won’t shy away from competition, finding himself as an extremely key part of Australia’s Olympic basketball run as a 19 year old. With this experience comes a lot of praise but heavy expectations, as Gaze thinks he’s the best player in the draft. If Gaze goes in the top 5, he will reward the GM who drafts him with a free +3 boost to any three non-potential attributes. If he falls out of the top 5, for every pick that he drops, he’ll gain a chip on his shoulder and thus, a +1 to his potential (Pick 6 - +1, Pick 16 - +11, and so on).
Panagiotis Fasoulas*
Due to contract disputes, the star big for the 1987 Greek EuroBasket Gold Medal team will have to stay in Greece for one more year. While this upsets him, he’s promised every team that he will work with a trainer specifically to improve in his off time, thus making him eligible for a fifth year of improvement camps in his International year. These camps will cost double the normal price ($2000) and will count towards camp history requirements.
Freeman Williams
Freeman Williams is the second highest scoring player in Division I basketball history but at 22 with C defense and B potential, his career trajectory offers a lot of uncertainty. What can he do for sure? Score! Williams is excited to start his career and if he can produce offensively in the NBN, he’ll focus solely on his defense to become a star defender as well. If Williams manages to lead his team in scoring (PPG over 50 games player) in any of his four rookie contract seasons, he’ll be eligible to claim +3’s to each of his perimeter defense, stealing, and blocking ratings. There is no cap on this, with a maximum of four free years of +3’s.
Kurt Rambis
Although Kurt ultimately won multiple championships throughout his career as a player, coach, and executive, he was known during his playing days for his thick black glasses. Due to this appearance, this note is going be known as “seeing double”. Each time Kurt Rambis is camped during his rookie and sophomore seasons, whatever attributes are gained will be double. The only stipulation to this note is that it CANNOT be used on super camps.
Detlef Schrempf
Having the build of a 4, Deltef comes in with a skill set of a wing with the body of a big. Many of his international coaches say he plays phenomenal at the 4 spot, and Deltef prefers playing there as well. Deltef will have the option in his rookie year off season to change positions to PF. If done so, he will receive +15 pounds, +3 strength and +3 shot blocking.
Olle Lundqvist
An absolute scoring machine who comes in a bit too late in his career to develop into a super star. But, that won't stop Olle. Olle is one of the hardest working players we've seen in recent years and even though he knows he coming in a bit late to the NBN, he wants to be able to still be regarded as one of the best ever. Each time he is camped, he be eligible to receive double bonuses for one of the attributes he is being camped in. This also includes super camps (so if he were to be in a three point camp, he can have the option to do +2 jump shot or +4 three point shot).
Stojko Vrankovic
Stojko played with some of the greatest international players of all time like Vlade Divac, Detlef Schrempf, Dino Radha, and more, but he wants to make a name for himself here in NBN. Although he will be overseas for a few years, he’s gonna work on his craft for whatever team drafts him. During his years overseas, Stojko will be eligible for a free +2 to any rating besides potential. Once he comes from overseas, he’ll be able to resume normal camps.
Larry Moffett
Going from one of the worst, most dangerous cities in America in Gary, Indiana to Compton Junior College in Compton, California, Moffett's been through a lot and is willing to go through the ringer to make his NBN, but at 24, he's not looking like a great draft option for most teams in the league. With that being said, however, the boost Moffett will get from the aforementioned motivation will make all the difference in his career and he wants teams to know that nobody and I mean NOBODY will outwork him. If Moffett is drafted in the first 40 picks, his work ethic will finally be realized, giving him a +10 boost to potential right off the bat. Furthermore, if drafted in the first round, he'll be allowed one extra improvement camp yearly in each of his rookie contract years, free of charge AND free of camp history requirements. If Moffett somehow goes in the top 15, he'll give a +5 potential boost to any player 23 and under on the roster he lands on, claimable once and only by the team who drafts him.
Dennis Boyd
A truly gifted passer that needs to work on his offensive game. If he plays on a team with B+ inside and B+ outside or better, he is eligible to have a +3 to his inside scoring and +3 to either his jump shot or three point shot, claimable each season he finds himself on a qualifying player in his camp eligibility years(first four years of his career).
Michael Cooper
Cooper is a total team player and desires to be a net positive on any team he is on in ways that can't show up on the box score for him. Any camp he goes to in his career except for super camps, he can bring any player that has not been to an All-star game or named to an All-League team with him for free. The second player will receive exactly the same ratings and can be any player, rookie contract or not as long as they meet the requirements stated above. As per usual now, this only applies to his first four years of his career. This does not count towards career/season camp limits and can put someone over the typical 85 attribute cap.
Philippe Szanyiel**
Philippe is a non traditional power forward, better on the perimeter than inside. That can end up being a net negative if he doesn't possess the strength or ability to block shots. In his two seasons spent in France, he can work on his post defense. Each off season, and only during the off season, Szanyiel can receive +2 shot blocking, + 2 post defense, and +2 strength for $750. Once he comes to the US, he will gain +2 strength and +2 shot blocking on top of any weight camp(all 3) he goes to for an additional $500.
