Now I don't agree with the value (didn't want this mofo for Bowie) but to be pissed that they swapped aging talent for a young prospect is absurd. |

I completely agree with Donny here, but I'm so used to his bad takes that I'm second guessing myself. Maybe it's not so bad? Either way it's going to the trade committee. First time we've had to do that in a while.

They got swept in the first round last year---Lost Magic in FA. We then bring back the roster to keep them competitive so we don't skew league with their traded picks. We sure as hell aren't dumping more assets into this terrible roster to *try* and compete. We get a high tier SF back on pretty much the same contract and gain an elite prospect. |

Now I don't agree with the value (didn't want this mofo for Bowie) but to be pissed that they swapped aging talent for a young prospect is absurd. i just scouted the prospect, let's break this down 1 - value is WOEFULLY insufficient for the best SF in the league 2 - they don't have their pick for 2 more seasons, so they're in compete mode... why would they back off compete mode in the middle of the season after an 8-5 start? 3 - if you as an interim are trading for a guy so you can late bloomer/PED camp him in 4 seasons, you are doing things wrong 4 - a move like this should be left for the next GM, period, interims have no reason making risky (and bad, let's be real) moves that make the team less desirable |
