Thats not Donny's point there.... hes making plans for a guy in year 5(Ped, late bloomer camps). I disagree a bit with Donny here but yeah. That's my plan with every prospect. Should i act differently as an interim? |

Be honest, what are the odds of the Trailblazers winning the title with this roster? Now I don't agree with the value (didn't want this mofo for Bowie) but to be pissed that they swapped aging talent for a young prospect is absurd. Thats not Donny's point there.... hes making plans for a guy in year 5(Ped, late bloomer camps). I disagree a bit with Donny here but yeah. My point though is what's the difference between keeping Morrow around for another two three seasons to accomplish nothing or spending that time developing a high-end prospect. If they keep with Morrow they'd eventually need to make some big trade to get the team to contender status, which would more than likely cost picks and I would bet most GMs would be less comfortable with interims trading futures. |

Now I don't agree with the value (didn't want this mofo for Bowie) but to be pissed that they swapped aging talent for a young prospect is absurd. i just scouted the prospect, let's break this down 1 - value is WOEFULLY insufficient for the best SF in the league 2 - they don't have their pick for 2 more seasons, so they're in compete mode... why would they back off compete mode in the middle of the season after an 8-5 start? 3 - if you as an interim are trading for a guy so you can late bloomer/PED camp him in 4 seasons, you are doing things wrong 4 - a move like this should be left for the next GM, period, interims have no reason making risky (and bad, let's be real) moves that make the team less desirable Speaking as the GM who inherited the Magic the future Blazers GM can kiss my ass. |
