Bison Dele
Bison is an NBA Champion who retired abruptly during his age 30 season while being the highest paid player on this team. It’s been theorized that he didn’t love the game and made enough money to happily retire. The happiest part of his career was winning the title and coming into the NBN he wants to do the same. If he wins a title he will fall in love with the game again and hit the gym extremely hard. Each time he wins a title during his rookie contract he is eligible for a super camp free of charge and camp history.
Jud Buechler
Current assistant coach of the New York Knicks and former 3x NBA champion from '96-'98, Jud Buechler's immediately coming into the league looking to make an impact. He's not unaware of his limitations, but instead of accepting said shortcomings, he's there to outwork anybody and everybody on the court. If Buechler's work ethic is enough to get him into 60+ games in his rookie year, he'll be eligible for a free +10 potential boost at the end of the year in what will be a culmination of a job well done. If Buechler finds his way into 25+ MPG in his rookie year over those 60+ games, he'll also be eligible to add on 2 free +5's to any non-potential attributes of your choosing.
Greg Grant
At 5'7, 140 at 24 years old, Grant's size is a real worry for NBN teams and will definitely be a point of contention on Draft Day... but none of that bothers Grant. Grant has an incredible story, growing up poor and working in a fish market to survive, and it's clear that he's unwilling to allow his small stature ruin a potentially long-term NBN career. Grant will work incredibly hard to prove the naysayers wrong, so much so that he'll be eligible for triple weight room boosts and double his Rookie Experience bonus. On top of that, if drafted in the first round, Grant will be eligible to receive camps for FIVE years instead of FOUR (camp history/requirements apply).
Negele Knight
Knight was able to grow a pack of super-fans during his senior year at Dayton, becoming a niche celebrity of sorts and, in turn, one of the most popular players of this draft, with a lot of credit due to his incredible play against highly touted CBB teams like Xavier and Illinois throughout the division/NCAA tournament. If Knight can build on that big-game experience with a berth to the NBN playoffs, he'll benefit big time. With that being said, for every playoff game that Knight scores at least 5 points throughout his rookie contract, he'll be eligible to receive a free +1 to any non-potential/athletic attribute, claimable at the end of the playoffs in each of his 4 rookie seasons. This will be capped out at a free +10 per playoff run.
Hyun Joo-yup
Hyun is a extremely successful and popular Korean basketball player who was drafted #1 in the KBL and has an assortment of nicknames. “Magic Hippo”, “Point Forward”, and “Korean Charles Barkley” are a few due to his size (6’5, 284lb) and versatility. During his oversea season he can receive a special Charles Barkley mentor camp. This camp will cost $1000 and be considered his mentor camp, but he will get +18 (instead of +12) split among the top 3 ratings and +5 potential (instead of +1 Barkley is currently eligible for).
Christian Laettner
Christian was a college star and had one of the best college careers ever winning 2 titles and final 4 MVP. He was also the only collegiate player named to the famous Olympic Dream Team. Despite being drafted #3 overall and earning an all-star berth, most would consider his pro career to be a disappointment. He’s used to playing on the biggest of stages and since he didn’t get that opportunity very often in the NBA, he is relishing the opportunity in the NBN. During his rookie contract he will get +1 to any rating for each playoff victory he is apart (cap of +5 per rating per season and he has to play atleast 1 min in the game to qualify).
Cortez Kennedy
The former NFL DT is trying his hand at basketball this time and really showed out during pre-draft camps. He came out of no where to win DPOY and lead the camps in rebounding and 2nd in blocks. He’s used to doing the dirty work in the trenches and wants to continue to focus on defense and rebounding when he enters the league. Anytime a scoring rating is camped (Inside, Jump Shot, 3pt) it can be swapped to a defensive rating (D Reb, O Reb, Post D, Per D, Steal, or Shot Block) and doubled. Does not apply to supercamp.
Tony Massenburg
Jim Jackson
Tony and Jim share an NBA record for playing for 12 different teams in their NBA career. Every time they join a new team for the first time they are eligible for +3 to any rating. If they are ever on the same team at the end of the season, they will also each receive an additional +3 to any rating. The +3 for joining a new team can only be claimed once per season. If claimed at the beginning of the season and they are then traded, the new team can not claim the +3 until the next season. If they join a team a 2nd time, they are not eligible for the +3.
Pooh Richardson
Pooh was the inaugural draft pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves being selected #10 overall in 1989. Coming into the NBN he doesn’t look like much of a prospect at 24yo and will need to progress quickly to prove his worth. If he’s selected in the 1st round, he can receive double camps in his first 2 seasons and will not be eligible for any camps in years 3 and 4.
Terry Mills
Mills is a solid defensive big that doesn't look all that interesting otherwise but seems to have a natural prowess on the perimeter. At the moment he can't really shoot at all but has a shot to drastically alter his chances there. In his first season the team that has Mills will have a choice. You can either camp him like a normal prospect and hope he turns out as a traditional big. Or you can give him +30 3-point shot, +10 potential, and +10 attributes to distribute as you please. This camp will cost $2500 and will render him ineligible to be camped for the rest of his rookie contract (4 year's experience). If traded, it must be conveyed to the receiving GM that this is taking place or the team trading Mills will receive a $2000 fine. This must be passed by the GM trading him every time until after his rookie contract.
Dennis Scott
Although the nickname doesn't come from this origin, we're going to play along with it in the NBN and assume 3D means Scott is known for his 3 pointers and his defense. Although a slightly older prospect and one that doesn't have the perfect build, he will reward whoever drafts him when his shooting and defense is on display during his rookie contract. For every game during his first 4 seasons where scott makes at least 3 3 point shots AND has at least 3 steals, he will receive +1 to any attribute of your choice. This is capped at a max of +5 per season.
Omer Kukuk
Our oldest prospect in the draft, like many before, Kukuk will need some extra pushing to have a solid career in our league. During his rookie contract, Kukuk can go to an additional improvement camp for free (doesn't count towards history and free of cost) each season. Also, if Kukuk wins the Rookie-Sophmore game MVP (in either season), he can claim a free +5 to any rating.
Cleanthony Early
Cleanthony was an extremely talented college player who flamed out pretty quickly in the NBA due in large part to his lack of shooting on the wing. He’s an older prospect but the rest of his build looks tantalizing. Every time he is sent to a camp on his rookie contract (team or improvement) he can add +1 to either jump shot or 3pt for free.
Walt Williams
Comes in the league with solid shooting attributes and wants to turn that into solid production. Williams wants the ball and wants to shoot it, being the former 7th pick he’s hoping to get his stock up during pre camps. If drafted in the top 5 he will earn a +2 +2 +2 to all 3 scoring attributes to start his career. Furthermore, if he averages more than 32 mins a game(must play 60 games) in any of his first 4 seasons in the league, then he can claim a +3 to any shooting attribute( Inside, jump shot, 3PT shot) at years end. This is claimable each of his first four seasons.
Shaquille O'Neal
One of the most intimidating post players in basketball history, Shaq has the potential to be one of the best centers in NBN history if he stays healthy. For each season he plays 80+ games in his rookie contract he will get one Inside Scoring camp free of camp history requirements. Additionally Shaq has no cap on his inside or strength ratings, and all strength gains can be doubled for free.
