Houston Rockets
Can’t believe how much I like this roster. Might be a top 5 team for me. Sengun looks fun as hell at 21 with A pot. They are the only team thus far with 4 A pot players. Jabari Smith build doesn’t look great but 20 with A pot. Jalen Green should be a scorer and Amen Thompson has elite super sub potential with the .. behind his name. There’s a few useful veterans here with Brooks and Oladipo and can’t forget 2 time NBN2 champ PG Van Vleet (thanks to Zion of course). Cap is in good shape with only FVV and Brooks making good money.
Memphis Grizzlies
Another one of these teams with a superstar PG. Morant looks fantastic with the A- inside. This team has a ton of pieces. Jaren Jackson is a weak rebounder, but gives you everything else and should be a really good PF still. Adams B+ A will be a great FBB center. Desmond Bane gives you wing scoring. That’s 4 good players and you still have Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke and Biyombo who could probably start for most teams. There’s not really any bloated contracts here either. Maybe amnesty or try and move Kennard to give you some wiggle room and you’ve got some flexibility.
San Antonio Spurs
Everyone just wants a chance with Wemby. He probably not as valuable in FBB as in real life, but that doesn’t matter. Outside of Wemby this is a weird roster though. Sochan is playing PG in real life but probably shouldn’t. Vassell should probably be a SF and he would be a lot more valuable. Not sure he’s worth anything at PF. Keldon Johnson is fine. If I got the Spurs this would be a blank slate roster where everything is sold off and built from the ground up around Wemby.
Minnesota Timberwolves
This team has some elite talent. Anthony Edwards will be a star and probably one of the best assets in the league. I know from experience how good KAT is and with Rudy, they will dominate teams in FBB. That’s probably as good of a ready to win trio as there is so far. Naz Reid will probably be a top 3 bench big. The problem with this roster is there isn’t much else. This roster is also going to be super expensive. If you can find a way to add some cheap depth, this could be a very good team for a few years and then you always have Edwards as your building block moving forward.
Dallas Mavericks
This is all about Luka. Luka had a turnover problem in NBN2 but dominated everywhere else. He’s only 24y and locked under contract through his late 20s. Kyrie will give the team a big time 2nd scorer. There’s not much else on the roster. Lively is a little underwhelming. There’s a few depth pieces with Kelber/Grant and a few shooters. Cap sheet isn’t awful. Think they compare to a team like the Pacers.
Denver Nuggets
I have no idea what to think of Jokic. He wasn’t very good in NBN2, but he also wasn’t a 2time MVP at that point. Will be very curious how he translate this time around, but you have him locked up on a big contract the pretty much the remainder of his career. Jamal Murray looks vastly under built after he was amazing in the playoffs last year. Michael Porter has a chance to be a dominate wing and will need to with this contract. Not much else on the roster. Aaron Gordon doesn’t look very good and is probably an amnesty candidate. Not much youth here. Very comparable to the 76ers except Maxey > Murray.
Utah Jazz
First thing that jumped out to me was there’s a lot of shooting on this roster. 9 guys with B- or better shooting. Lauri Markkanen is their best player and is on a helluva contract. B+ A- offense is up there with the best of them. Walter Kessler will probably be a pretty good traditional big. John Collins, Jordan Clarkson, Collin Sexton, Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, THT, Sensabaugh, and even Olynyk gives this roster a lot of depth/useful pieces. The problem with the Jazz is they don’t really have that signature piece outside of Markkanen and he looks very one dimensional.
