2023 181 Jazz Sign SG Zach LaVine. for $90,000,000 over 2 years.
Grade - A
LaVine was the prize of the this FA class and the Jazz are the winners. Being in his prime and the best scorer available, Lavine was always going to get plenty of offers, but with no one willing to hand out a max the Jazz were able to lure him in on a short term contract for near max money and they can re-evaluate their cap situation then and see if he's worth an extension or if he will have to test FA again in 2025.
2023 181 Wizards Sign PG Lonzo Ball for $38,396,000 over 3 years.
Grade - A+
This was the perfect move for the lowly Wizards franchise that had almost no talent on the roster and will be looking to rebuild through the draft. Ball is a solid piece who can contribute to a winning roster next season, but his injury makes him worthless to a contender for now. That gives the Wizards a better opportunity to tank this year and also adds value to their franchise for the long term with a very reasonable 3 year deal.
2023 181 Kings Sign SG Alex Caruso. for $54,000,000 over 3 years.
Grade - B
2023 181 Grizzlies Sign PG Collin Sexton for $17,036,022 over 2 years.
Grade - C
The Griz had a few dollars to worth with here and were looking to spend it any way possible, but I think there would be better uses of this money than a backup PG who doesn't protect the ball or play defense. Using the cap is fine, but I would have kept this to a 1 year deal for a guy like Sexton.
2023 181 Pistons Sign PF Jerami Grant. for $66,200,000 over 3 years.
Grade - C-
Jerami Grant can score and backup SF, but without being able to play defense or rebound I don't see him as a starter at all in his career. This is a little much to pay for a backup, but won't break the bank although Grant likely could have been had for cheaper.
2023 181 Hornets Sign PF PJ Washington for $18,000,000 over 3 years.
Grade - C-
I'm not sure what is so special about PJ Washington that he got more than MLE consideration. He is still young enough to prove me wrong, but at 25 we're probably not looking at big jumps to his ratings and a 3 year contract is about 2 years too long.
2023 181 Bucks Sign PF Dorian Finney-Smith. for $4,500,000 over one year.
Grade - C+
Nice little 3 and D guy to fill out the Bucks bench. Nothing special about this signing, but nothing wrong with it either. Bringing in a rotation piece for a contender using the MLE is a fine deal.

2023 181 Kings Sign SG Alex Caruso. for $54,000,000 over 3 years.
Grade - B
Caruso is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, but doesn't contribute enough on offense to be a clear starter which makes this deal a little bit of an overpay - but with the cap space and current talent on the Kings it made sense to add one of the B-tier FAs to squeeze a few more wins out of the roster.
