1. A year after winning the title, your team had some unfortunate injury issues and fell short of the playoffs. What’s your overall thoughts on last year’s season and what’s your view for this upcoming one?
I had high hopes for last season, although i knew repeating for a title would be harder. I still had hope to at least make the playoffs even when KAT got his major injury, but when Gobert was out for the last 20 games it completely destroyed any chance to make the playoffs. Im optimistic about the 2025 season, obviously half of the roster is new and i traded away Gobert but i'm still certain i can make some noise in the playoffs unless someone like Anthony Edwards gets season ending injury. I believe i have a lot more depth this season but i had to sacrifice a defensive stalwart like Gobert. We'll see how that turns out.
2. Where do you rank KAT amongst the other bigs throughout the league and why?
KAT improved in training camp, so i think he's one of the best scoring big men in the league, but he lacks a knack for blocking shots and to be a lockdown defender so there are numerous big men that can do both. Maybe not good at scoring as KAT but they have other elements to their game that would put them above KAT.
3. You came under a bit of heat for the Giddey and Suggs contracts. Defend why you believe they are worth the money given.
Giddey is still young and has a lot of potential so the contract i gave him is more for his potential than what he is currently although i believe that he is already a great talent and he is extremely versatile so i can plug him into any position. He improved his 3 point shooting during training camp and i expect him to improve further next season as well.
4. Without your pick for the next 3 seasons, do you believe you have a contending roster here and if not, what assets will you dangle to get to that tier?
I think so yes, maybe not a championship contender but i dont think i will be in the lottery unless i get a major injury like i stated earlier. I tried to acquire more depth and i think our roster is deeper than it was in previous seasons.
5. What’s Baba Miller’s ceiling and where does he fit in now that you have Josh Giddey on the roster?
Baba Miller's ceiling is really high, last i checked his potential is currently one of the highest in his draft class, has made significant playmaking and defensive improvements this offseason as well. Giddey is versatile so he'll back up multiple positions, and Baba Miller needs to be camped to be eligible to back up Shooting Guard so the starting spot at SF will be Baba's and then Giddey will be the Super Sub for 1-4. They'll both get a lot of playing time.
6. 2 seasons into the new league, what’s your thoughts on NBN being back? What’s the one thing that you missed the most while we were in our hiatus? What’s one thing you hope to see as we move forward?
Its great to be back at NBN, its been a long time since i was participating in an online league and the return of NBN was perfect timing as i wanted to get back into this kind of stuff. I missed competing in an online league and talking trade and especially the offseason, i like the process of working on a roster and then seeing how well (or badly) it does and then working on it some more. One thing i hope to see in the future is probably a Discord server for the league. Navigation is much faster, it has a lot more functionality and i think overall it's a better environment to run an online league.
7. Give me your thoughts on the contracts that we currently have throughout the league? In your opinion, is cap space as important as it used to be with the contracts that are being thrown around?
The contracts are still alright, some players overpaid and some underpaid, i think the GMs dictate the league economy and i hope things dont get too wild. Cap space is very important i think GMs need to look to stay within the limits set in place and not go too crazy because its very expensive to pay the luxury tax, and it can affect other aspects like prospect development.
8. With the lack of inflation currently throughout the league, what is one position that you think is the most valuable to build your team around and why?
Power Forward or Center. A quality big man can provide scoring, rebounding and defense. Some of them can also pass very well. You can go a long way with a top tier big man and role players at other positions.
9. Whether or not you have had any draft picks yet, what’s your thoughts on the 2 drafts we have had? Along the same lines, would you like to see more notes going forward?
Drafting is my favorite part, the previous 2 drafts we have had were different from each other and were both great for different reasons, you can always find quality players late in the 1st round or sometimes even in the 2nd round and thats how drafts should be, i think. Yes id love to see more draft notes, its a positive thing for the draft.
10. What’s your honest opinion on interim GMs? Do you think it’s a downfall of the league or leagues can continue with a handful of GMs overseeing 2 teams?
Im fine with interim GMs to a certain point, and if the interim GM's main team is in a different conference. As long as there is active recruitment to reduce the need of them i really dont mind if a handful of teams temporarily require an interim GM.
