1. You have what I believe to be the best guard trio with Ja, Reaves, and JHS. What makes them all so special? With Reaves and JHS being upcoming FAs, what is your plan with those contracts?
I love them, JHS has transitioned greatly at the Sf position. Wish I could see him play at the 2 but with Reaves that's obviously not going to happen. I think they're special because they're all scorers in their own way and seem to compliment one another. Current plan is to sign them both long term, IF JHS struggled at the 3 id be hesitant but right now i have no issues paying these 3 big money to keep this roster contending.
2. Outside of the three players mentioned above, you have nobody on the roster that is capable of getting buckets. What is your plan going forward with this team to push the Lakers into title contender status?
Work the phones, ive made contacts with multiple GMs and no one is either willing to move talent or just not ready to sell yet which is understanding. I almost had a deal for Tatum but think it would have cost us too much depth and young talent so i was okay with losing out there.
3. After this season, you have your first round pick back. Will you be looking to retool in the offseason, fully rebuild, or use those picks to attain more assets to help you win?
Guess it comes down to how FA plans out. If JHS and Reaves walk and that leaves me just JA i may look to move him and commit to a full rebuild. As of now tho ive spent a lot of years rebuilding and trying to perfect a team so i enjoy being competitive and winning games.
4. Porzingis has been somewhat underwhelming in the new league. What does he bring to the table that your other bigs do not, which made you feel he was a nice compliment?
Hes a fourth scorer and actually has been playing solid defense putting up close to 4 stocks per game. Im okay with him being an iffy rebounder with JHS and reaves being solid rebounders for their positions.
5. If Jaime continues to not shoot the ball, will you be looking to upgrade the SF spot throughout this season?
short answer is yes, he doesn't wanna shoot. Ive been open with saying he has a 90+ jump shot and 3 pt shot so their isn't much else I can do for him. JHS is filling in fine at Sf but id love to secure one and move him back to his super sub role.
6. Heading into season 4, the Sixers will be looking for a three peat, which has only happened once, dating back to the original NBN. If there is 1 team out there who can take the defending champs down, who is it and why?
Its got to be the Raptors from Toronto or the young core in Washington. Both teams have star power to compete with them and with all of them being in the east it will be an exciting race to the end of the season. Dash has so much cap he better be working the phones to make a deal PRONTO
7. We've seen some top prospects struggle early on since the league has restarted, especially after some rough training camps. What are your thoughts on how the draft classes have looked on the court? Is the lack of success a product of the drafts or the randomness of FBB?
Lot of it is randomness of NBN. The game is just weird at times but we have seen some top prospect turn into studs ( Flagg). Im also on the fence that not every first overall pick can be a stud, need to have that random factor just like in realy life or else everyone would super tank for the number 1 pick.
8. We have not seen the worst regular season team be gifted the number 1 pick in the draft so far. Do you think there's to say that maybe full on tanking isn't necessary or even worth it with the way our lotteries have fallen so far?
I still think full on tanking is the way to go. Even if you don't get the top pick having top 4 is always solid. The teams i never get are the half tankers who always get around 7-12. I don't think you're veer gunna really pull a stud from that list. My opinion you should full on tank for a top 3 pick then the following season aim for 6-10 range and then so on.
9. There has been some discussion about potentially bringing PED camps back to the league. What's your thoughts on a) the camp itself and b) would it immediately lead to a more inflated league? Would there be a way we could introduce it that would be beneficial to the health of the league?
I love PED camps and think they should be back. I've been huge on them. I think you can easily regulate how PED camps are used. Perhaps you can only PED a ranking that is 70 or lower. The camp should be used to help guys massive flaws not to boost an A shooter to A+. Love to get a group message going about PEDs and was we can tweak them to bring them back.
10. Bam Adebayo was given a max deal that will pay him over 70 mil in his last year. With where a player has to be experience wise to be given a contract like this, can you foresee any players that are worth 70 million in the future? Who and why?
Frankly no, this deal is bad and as you can see with the heat now even with him on the cheaper end of the deal they're struggling. Think we all know you cant win in NBN with 4 players and when paying someone 70 million you're basically cutting your roster to 14 with 130 mill to spare and that's wild. Lets just say you're able to pair a great PG making 40 mill and lets say a stud SF making 35 mill. That means you need to fill out two more starting spots and 4-5 bench spots with 55 mill and that's IF you wanna be against the hard cap of 200 mill. Hopefully we chat about bring back buyouts as well because that 70 mill is gunna be rough.
