1. You were finally able to unload that Brandon Miller contract. Why did you offer it in the first place and do you regret it? Do you honestly think he has any chance to live up to that amount of money?
I offered it because I thought if I offered 1 year less I would lose him and if i offered like 6 years 30 a year or 35 a year or even 37 a year I thought I would lose him. So i went with max and yea I regret it. Luckily I was able to also get Embiid and use him for some trades that helped out the team. My team was playing great and so was Brandon right before I moved him but yes I am very glad I was able to get rid of him so i can max dj wagner this offseason.
2. You made a somewhat controversial trade with Denver getting back Mara, but also taking on Topic’s contract. Are you happy with how that deal has panned out?
Very happy, I was about to move him cheap because of the contract but after TC he turned into the exact PG I have been looking for and thought Donovan Mitchell would be but Nikola is possibly the teams future PG moving forward. Top in assists, close to top 10 in steals, and under 3 topg, I’ll take it.
3. DJ Wagner is due for a huge contract this offseason. Are you willing to max him? If for whatever reason he doesn’t return, what will be your plan going forward?
Really need him to resign. I will max him no matter what he asks for. Made room just for it. We will take a HUGE step backward if he decides to leave us and whoever holds my 2030-2031-2032 will be very lucky. Only thing I will be able to do is trade my youth for win now and ruin my future at that point.
4. Alex Toohey was an interesting pick last season, but doesn’t look like he’s gotten much better since coming into the league. After a season and a half, what do you think his ceiling is?
I’m hoping with one more TC and camps next year he could be somewhere at B- A- C+ A- C+ B. Even though he’s pretty old hes still pretty raw for some reason. Only time will tell who. I hope when hes done he can be B A- C+ A- C+ and have really good percentages. Backup 1-2-3 when aristode is ready in the future could be insane.
5. You’ve continued to stack centers. While Gobert will obviously be gone going forward, what is your reasoning for targeting all of them knowing a lot won’t get playing time?
Mara and Rocco are my only ready now Centers. Staton and Miikka are work in projects that I will need in the future when Mara and Rocco are in their prime and Gobert is gone. Moving forward after Gobert, my only bigs are Mara Rocco Staton Miikka so its not that many. Gobert was brought in so i can still work on Staton and Miikka while they arent ready to compete yet.
6. Half way through the year, give me your East winner, West winner, and who will take home the NBN title this season.
Its still early to tell but I still really like Sixers in the East, maybe Pelicans will give them a fight but like I said its still too early hopefully I still find a DC that makes my team start playing better or find someone to help us. In the West I’d prob say Lakers or Kings but u really cant count the struggling teams out. Grizzlies record looks weird but cant count out a lineup of Allen-Zion-Sarr-Levya-Shai. Knicks will win their first title this year!
7. We are starting to mix some vets into the drafts going forward. What is your thought on this and who are some players that you are excited to see soon?
Honestly, other than what Silver brought up on the guys I dont know yet coming into the draft, I would like to see Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, AI, Tmac, VC, Shaq, Yao back in the league cuz cmon lets be honest those were the best days of NBA.
8. Although we are getting some nice ones in the drafats, shooting guards seem tough to find around the league. Do you think it's an unfortunate development issue once they are in the league or they are not being built for success pre draft, which is making it tough for them to progress?
Everyone is pretty much hoarding their gaurds because theres not much good ones. Even the teams with good SGs are trying to find other good SGs. I just think there arent that many great guards out there. Even in the NBA, SG position is falling, its mostly PG and SF and the bigs where the stars are at, its a tough position to perfect thats why Jordan and Kobe were who they were. I was lucky to get someone like DJ Wagner in the draft. I still feel like hes been the best SG drafted in any of the drafts yet.
9. With the NFL season right around the corner, who is your favorite NFL team and what are you expectations of them going into the season?
Not really a football fan but Ive always been an Eagles fan since McNabb, TO days but I cant really say ive followed since those days but I always root for the Eagles.
10. Real life NBA. What's your thoughts on Bronny James and him going to the Lakers? In your opinion, does he have a future in the NBA?
I really think he does. He hasnt been trying imo on the offensive side but even when he does he has a nice jumpshot, he can finish in the paint and can get hot. What I really like is his defense. He can defend really well. He is already a better defender than dlo and austin reaves and he can block, steal, and he’s only 6’2. I think he will turn into a good NBA player
