1. As it’s been the last few seasons, your team sits towards the top of the standings out West. What makes this team any different than years past to get you over the hump?
Sadly i dont think there is much, our offense is not that great scoring but we are one of the best defensive teams in the league. Ive tried to make some moves but nothing seems to go anywhere. Im okay with winning 55+ games tho always funn to be competitive.
2. Harry Giles was a nice low cost pickup. What does he bring to an already great defensive team?
Depth and just an improved fourth big. Love that him and capela can come off the bench and it’s always nice to rely on williams in case we get an injury late like last year. Any time i can swoop someone for just cash i will always pull that trigger.
3. Ja was snubbed from the ASG this year. Why do you think he hasn’t gotten the same recognition as some of the other top tier PGs?
His scoring is the most hes averaged in his career but his assists are way down. This game strives on PGs with high assist numbers unless you score like Fox. Love his game tho and think looking back on that trade with the Grizzs he has turned into a great PG.
4. Your team, as a whole, isn’t scoring a ton. Do you think you have the offensive firepower across the board to keep up with some of these elite scoring teams?
Being honest no but i think defensivly we can at least hang into games. Losing KP this offseason hurt and it shows on the offensive side. Loved bringing in hendricks who has been great on the D but he lacks offense and next to kessler im basically a 3 man show.
5. If this year doesn’t work out as planned, will you look to break up your trio of Ja, Reaves, and JHS and if so, what kind of team will you look to build?
idk about rebuild but i think i will be moving on from one of the big 3 this offseason for sure. It has been a hell of a ride but we currently dont have our first this year or the next 2 so i may have to do some retooling. Still have a good amount of season left and with injuries and crazier things maybe we can make one final run.
6. Half way through the year, give me your East winner, West winner, and who will take home the NBN title this season.
For me the east is the wizards with the Pels not too far behind. West seems to be the Kings, offensively theyre scoring at will. I think this is the year Silver and the kings return to glory and take home the title.
7. We are starting to mix some vets into the drafts going forward. What is your thought on this and who are some players that you are excited to see soon?
I enjoy some vets but love that we keep bringing in some young talent. For me im not really into following highschool ball so to hear guys names years later and i go OMG and NBN legend is pretty cool to see. I guess since i dont know these young guys i am excited to see some Vets like Stockton and so on come into the league. Maybe in a year or 2 ill actually have a pick and be able to draft someone lol
8. Although we are getting some nice ones in the drafts, shooting guards seem tough to find around the league. Do you think it's an unfortunate development issue once they are in the league or they are not being built for success pre draft, which is making it tough for them to progress?
Sadly i really dont know, it may be tough because we dont have enough mentors out there but i just think the game works in mysterious ways. I see the class this year has some decent Sg talent so maybe we arent too far behind on getting some true young Sgs in this league.
9. With the NFL season right around the corner, who is your favorite NFL team and what are you expectations of them going into the season?
Im from the Clevealand area so i am a die hard browns fan but i have also loved and followed the packers since the brett favre days. I can see the browns once again making the playoffs but idk if they really have the talent to win it all. That being said i think the packers have a better chance, very young and showed last year they can hang with the big boys.
10. Real life NBA. What's your thoughts on Bronny James and him going to the Lakers? In your opinion, does he have a future in the NBA?
I really think its just ridculous tbh, we polarize these kids and for what? Cause his dad is Lebron. He got paid 4 million which is wild to me at that spot in the draft and now i hear non stop about him and these summer league games. He hasnt impressed anyone and i dont think he deserves to be in the league but maybe he will prove me wrong.
