This is random for this thread but I'm high as fuck right now working on the class(i wanted to get some guys into the draft preview for my sims this weekend to get a bit of a preview on the draft, didn't realize I was making THIS draft class). So my brain has gone on quite the rabbit hole. So here is my question:
Does the NFL have a player as dominant in the history of their sport like the NBA/MLB/NHL have in Wilt Chamberlain/Barry Bonds/Wayne Gretsky? Jerry Rice, maybe?
Like seriously, those three dudes are just stupidly dominant. I'm not into hockey, so i'm not even gonna bother on his stats but if you're a hockey fan you KNOW what i'm talking about. His stats will never be repeated or come ven close. Just pack it up, end the sport. We found the best guy ever.
Barry Bonds is the most statistically dominant player in baseball and its not even close. I'm not even saying he is the best because we can all debate the merits of the steriod era, but just going pure stats its insane. Shohei Ohtani is having a truly historic year. Hes gonna win MVP in the NL without pitching proving how truly dominant he is as a hitter. He just clinched 40/40, might end up with a 50/50 year. Ohtani is currently on pace for the 11th best season of Barry Bonds career. Not even kidding. Just mind boggling how good Barry Bonds was in his peak.
But I'm making Wilt trying to decide how good to make him from day one and this motherfucker walked into the league winning MVP. He had a 37 point and 27 rebound per game season his rookie year. This motherfucker scored 50 a game. I know the pace and talent pool was lower, but no one else came close to what Wilt did in NBA history proving it wasn't just easy to do this. Motherfucker was stronger, more athletic, and put it all together better than anyone. Same thing with Bonds, everyone was roided up. Bonds just was better than everyone before roids. Wilt was just better than everyone despite everyone having the same pace/rule advantages

B+ D C A- A-
But poor free throw, poor handles Stip, must always be a #1 scoring option and can’t run outside offense

both, hate the stipulation conidering its fbb...
too high as well... I'd prob go High B Inside, Low B+ defense, and probably high B+ rebounding and max out offense rebounding. prob max out strength jumping quickness too tho

Idk, I hate giving rookies A- or higher ratings coming in, but I believe B D D B+ B+ A as a rookie in this league where not a lot of great bigs would be good... B inside but like pretty much B+ like after TC he might be B+ D+ D+ B+ A- year one or something...

Shaquille O'Neal C 7'1'' 325 19 B+ D C B B A Wilt Chamberlain C 7'1'' 275 19 B+ D C B- B+ A
This is where I started. I'll prolly change. Its certainly tough. Def trying to have some give and take to make them a little different. There is almost zero way to make these two have high B inside. I'll say, with B+ inside neither one of them have 70 inside scoring currently. Prolly getting into it more than I should but Wilt will be more athletic(higher quickness, jumping) but not quite as strong. I think Wilt was a fucking ox, but gotta differentiate a bit. They'll be pretty close but some specific differences.
Just to show how hard it is to avoid A- inside right now: 100 jumping+100 strength+50 inside scoring = A- inside. 95 jumping+90 strength+60 inside = A- inside. 65 inside+90 jumping+90 strength is A- outside.

I don’t think there needs to be too much differential. Both amazing and they just happen to be the same class. Both should be the greatest draft prospects we’ve had to date

This is random, but I wonder what Shaq would've looked like long term had he stayed in his Magic physique. He was still bigger than Giannis, but he moved so well. Obviously, he never wouldve been able to fake it from 3PT, but would've been interesting to see what he would've looked like into his 30s.

Gonna be a pretty substantial update to the draft class when I sim later on and I just gotta say, I'm pretty much throwing out every bit of balancing that I've put in place the first 5-6 classes. This class will 100% be an all time great class in all of NBN history. We've had the chance for classes like this in 2.0 and 3.0 but declarations never came together like this. Absolutely no clue how to balance this. But yeah, this class is gonna be unbelievable. I probably shouldn't have added as many HOF freshman as I did but I cannot for the life of me believe it fell together like this. I also forgot guys like Mahamadou Langour, Caleb Holt, Renalto Villalta were as good as they are. Those guys could have been #1 pick type candidates in weaker classes but are here and gonna end up way down the list because of the stars in this class. And there are like 12-14 guys that at points in time in their IRL NBA careers were stars but not superstar/HOF level guys. Its nasty work how this shit came together. Next few classes will almost for sure be weak to make up for it but we have a really fun class to follow the next few years. It won't be just barren wasteland but I probably don't add a HOF level talent next year and the following year might bring 1 or 2 of the top pick candidates as HS Seniors to reduce the chance they declare.
