1. You are relatively new here still, was wondering what you thought of the league up to this point?
I was here back in 2.0 and in comparison to how that ship sunk, we smooth sailing. Part of it is because people are letting people be, and in my assumption on how draft classes are built these days. Maybe its because its still early in this league's life, but it seems easier to find and develop late round talent, even without the old and abused late bloomer life in 2.0.
2. You look to have went all in at trying to compete this year, how far do you see your team going this year?
It's difficult to say only 4 sims in, I'm still trying to figure out the DC, and the East this season is clumped of good teams. At least 10 teams currently are competing for a playoff spot, and that's not including a team like Boston who've seemingly awoken a sleeping giant named Kiyan Anthony (excited to see if that becomes anything). If we even manage to make it the dance, given my track record in FBB, I'm likely a 1st round exit in 6 or 7 games. Don't see us ha ing any shot at making it past the 2nd round, unless a Josh Leonard scoring camp and additional rebounding does us wonders.
3. Who do you think will win West and East and who do you think will win the title this year?
The Grizzlies have made several recent moves to finally acquire an actual PG in Jalen Brunson, so they're looking swell. The Thunder I'd expect at some point to make a move for a PG, the Jazz look nice but Baba hasn't developed enough. It's hard to pick against the Kings right now, but if we're to consider the downslide (or return) of Keegan Murray and De'Aaron Fox's usual post season trip to the IR, I think I'll go with the Grizzlies this season.
In the East, I might be better picking a name out of the hat. I mean given the established pattern, the Wizards should be a first round exit this season, I honestly hated that Magic trade back for Holmgren, I think they'll somehow lose much needed scoring "depth" at the wings when it come to the postseason. The 76ers might have the most complete lineup, but their defense is middling at best. Knicks have no point guard and every competing team in the Central have one big flaw in their roster whoch could kill a series.
4. What are your thoughts of this upcoming draft? Do you like whos in it? Do you think it has a chance of being the best draft we see yet?
Haven't looked once at the possible board, and honestly don't plan to, I really need to hold off this next offseason on making any new young additions I'd want to spend money on.
5. What do you think Josh Leonard's and Damon Stoudamire's ceiling will be?
I'm not sure where the potentials still sit at, both still got an A and if I could find Leonard an solid mentor that could target the outside and paired with an potential boost, I could see him getting to a low 20's ppg and 7rpg kind of guy. Unfortuneatly this could mean he walks in 3 seasons, because I don't believe I could hand out a max deal for that. He'd be another Brandon Miller. Stoudamire on the other hand I see as being somewhere in between current Tyrese Haliburton and Egor Demin. So basically Egor bit with better shooting.
6. If you could trade for one player in the league right now who would it be and why?
Well I think this next draft class should be potentially stacked, so I'll take whoever gots #1 pick this year. Rog has probably been itching to create an masterpiece.
7. 20 days into the season and you are sitting at 7-7, what are your expectations for this year?
19-13 these days, hoping for a deep playoff run, but I'll settle for making it past round 1. Honestly I'm hoping my record will look way better by the end, which has a high probability of happening I think, jusy considering I have 27 home games in the back half of the season.
8. I wasn't part of NBN1 or NBN2 and I'm not sure if you were or not but if you were, from what you've seen so far how does this league compare or doesnt compare to the other versions up to this point?
Only caught the back half of 2.0, more chill to this point, and currently more diverse in the sense that most teams seem to want to construct their own thing.
9. Out of everyone on your roster, who would you like to meet in real life and why?
None of them, almost all of these names are either too young for me to know or too old for me to care and I don't keep up with the modern NBA outside of the Mavs, in which I only really care for during the post season. My god the regular season is boring af, and don't get me started on that retarded in season tournament. If they were actually smart, they'd have each team open the season with 29 games against every team, seed them #1-30 based on record, then have an actual tournament during the holiday. Bet their dumb reasoning is "too much travel", smh.
10. If you had to trade rosters with someone in the league who would it be and why?
Go with my Western counterpart, the Mavs. Seemed to follow one another via draft and off season. But this is more or less speaking on the terms before the Darryn Peterson trade. Otherwise maybe the Suns, they've some young talent I like and plenty of capspace to work with.
11. Are you playing any video games currently? if no why not?
Finally found the time to get into the Elden Ring, bought at release but too stressful to pair with school. Gaming is meant to be my time to relax.
