2029 NBN Eastern Conference Playoffs Round 1
#1 Orlando Magic [59-23] vs #8 Brooklyn Nets [48-34]
I swear to god if after such a stressful season in East was all to result in several first round sweeps. I'm a go back in time and strangle the son of a bitch who created this stupid simulator. That being said, if any team should have a "quote-on-quote" easy round 1 it should be the Orlando Magic. While the rest of us peons fought and scraped for every single win, the Magic have just been chilling amd staring down from their 2028 Eadtern Conference Champions throne. There was a tiny moment there where it seemed to get dicey with the Raptors coming within a game and a half during the last stretch of the season, but they pulled through with an consecutive 59-win season. However, as great as this season has been for them, I do wonder if there is an solid chance of an upset from the late to the party Brooklyn Nets. I absolutley loved many of the offseason and in season moves the Nets made, and the GM will be for sure getting my #1 GMOTY vote. They are the 8th seed but they still managed 48 wins, and after the addition of Joel Embiid they've managed an great 31-12 record. Not only that, but they've gone 14-1 since the trade deadline with big wins against the Magic, Raptors, and Kings. Might not be so easy for Orlando this year. I'll still expect them to take it.

#2 Toronto Raptors [56-26] vs #3 Philadelphia 76ers [50-32]
Congrats to yourkers15 for winning the Central Division!!! His prize?! Well that's getting Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to go head to head against the returning Tyrese Maxey on surviving Phildelphia team. Maxey missed 21 games and to survive and string of losses that could've potentially cost a playoff spot, carlos went out and acquired Jamal Murray. That's added depth behind the trio of Maxey-Bufkin-Barnes, and while I don't find the combination of Mobley, Olbric, and Stewart to be as lethal as Markannen and Burns Jr., they've got the back court to dominate a team that's force to throw Brandon Miller out there. I'm rooting for the Raptors to do it, because anyone who can manage a playoff series win with a leech like Miller deserves a reward, but with the return of Maxey I see an upset brewing.

#3 Detroit Pistons [53-29] vs #6 New Orleans Pelicans [51-31]
This is probably about to turn into a lesson about why bitches shouldn't run their mouth. All last post season I went off on how the Pelicans as a 61-21 first seeded team in the conference were false profits. I shat on their style and refused to acknowledge any sort of hope in them winning a title. Now here I am, after the most successful regular season the 3.0 Pistons and in fact I have ever had in NBN. I'm staring at a ghost who's grave I had desecrated. Yeesh. I never made any changes to the roster after the offseason, only played with the DC. #3 overall pick Damon Stoudamire found himself as my starting SG, and Bam has done some good I guess. But filling that SF/SG spot was never resolved. The Pelicans on the other hand went out and made lots of changes to the roster, they acquired Porzingus for more shotblocking, and got the 4th year Cody Williams at SF. Looking at the overall strength of these rosters I find them to be on a similar level, but I'd wager the offense of the Pelicans shall be more reliable in a series like this. Besides if we really were to put some money on this, who would you actually trust as a GM? The Slough is the correct answer.

#4 Washington Wizards [52-30] vs #5 New York Knicks [51-31]
Look there was this ongoing trend for the Wizards ove the course of the past 4 seasons where they'd clinch the 3rd seed and would alternate between winning and losing in the first round of the playoffs. This season was suppose to be their losing season, but who knows maybe the its actually just a 3-seed ordeal, and dash's good friend the Pistons will take that burden. The real truth of it though comes down to Isaiah Collier > Carlton Carrington, I don't like the post season PG situation in New York, and if the is to keep Jayson Tatum at PF for the series, then Cooper Flagg is probably about to enter godhood. It really an interesting series to me, because I believe Rocco has to start, but then that'd kill the production of Giddey. Back when Rocco did start they had Ayton picking up boards at least. I do still kinda wanna lean towards the Knicks though since the Wizards are so heavily reliant on their trio, but this is actually where the Reed Shepard story will begin. Long series, no upset.
