1. With Season 9 officially beginning, what are your expectations after going 2-2?
I really like our young core. Idk if we will be good this year but id like to be competitive. Back to back semi tanking years its finally time the youth starts to shine and play well. Im aiming for the 8th seed this year and making the playoffs. Think that would be a success.
2. You made some nice deals in the offseason to try to compete, do you think it was smart to try to win instead of waiting for your young players to develop?
I dont think i moved any young depth to get the more win now players. I got joker for my pick this year and cash so if we can make the playoffs i lost out on a late teen pick but i have my starting SG(22) SF(20) and C(21). i signed my young PF Garces(23) long term because he played well last year and ill be losing joker after this year most likely. Time to compete and continue to grow
3. Is Nikola Jokic going to retire a Laker or is there a deal you are trying to make for him?
Hes currently retiring a laker. He was a hell of a mentor for my 2 young bigs (Mutumbo, Webster) but hes showing this year he can still ball out. Averaging 21-10-3 is fine when mutumbo is ripping down almost 16 rebounds. If an offer comes to the table we will entice it but i am in no rush to move him.
4. Who do you think needs to take the extra step in order for your team to play better?
Id say as long as all my guys got better its all i really ask for. Jordan page was just inserted into the starting lineup at 22 and per 34 hes averaging 20-5.7-3.1 which is awesome for his second year. Kukoc scoring is low but with Joker ripping 21 and peterson and page getting near 20 im okay with where he is at year 1.
5. You signed Holmes and seem to be not playing him at all, do you regret that signing now?
Not at all, he is a great depth piece and will fit right into the PF role if i move Joker or he retires after this year. I think i have some of the best big depth in the league with Joker, Mutumbo, Holmes and Garces with a young rookie center in webster who looks decent.
6. What are you hoping Toni Kukoc will look like 2-3 seasons from now?
He will get a super camp next year but i am hoping his defense continues to grow in TC and i can focus on scoring. He's averaging 2.1 steals Per game which is awesome his rookie year. If i can get his FG% up while holding his 3PT% i think he will turn into a solid starting SF.
7. My New York Knicks went 4-1 in sim 1, do you think we might actually be good or is it a fluke?
Youre now 6-1 and im shocked. I think it will even itself out but for now you guys look good. I dont understand how armstrong is averaging 20 on great % while have a C B scoring lol I do think the mara contract looks very meh but hes only there for 2 more years so maybe it will work out in the end.
8. My LA Lakers in real life are currently 3-1, do you think Lake show are back or is it a fluke?
I am personally a Lebron fan since he won my Cavs a title and i do like AD. Now my Cavs punched them in the mouth last night and showed if you play bully ball they fold quick. They need more depth but i think they have a solid roster going forward.
9. Who do you think currently has the best chance to win the championship this year and why?
Think this is an NBN related question so Im going to say the Utah Jazz. Wemby is averaging 38 in 8 games so far and the guard combo of Luka and Egor look solid. Would love them to add some depth pieces with the 14 mill they have but im excited to see what they have in store.
10. Which team do you think will be a force in the league in the next 2-3 years that isn't a force already?
Id love to say myself with the youth i have but ill go with the Celtics, Young core of Stockton, Asprillia and the rook Sarunas. Kids averaging 32 in his rookie year. Watch out for Nate and crew.
11. With us fully into retro now, who is your favorite retro player yet to enter the league and why?
Gotta be MJ, Im excited to see his build and how he turns out. Others like Julius Erving, Magic Johnson and Bill Russell. Excited for future classes.
12. Boston Celtics (naterade) won GMOTY last season, who do you think is in the early running this season?
Im going Jballin with the jazz, team looks great and hes made mnoves to get Luka and others. The wemby carry over is shining and i really think they can win. Hes got my vote right now.
