The 30th nominee for the NBN Hall of Fame is The Answer himself, Allen Iverson. Iverson was an incredibly talented player, who did many things for his team, but also was incredibly flawed. Were his flaws enough to prevent him from the Hall of Fame? Lets take a look

Arguments For Induction
- Was named to an All-League Third team, two All-Defensive teams, an All-Defensive Second team, and was a one time All-Star.
- Iverson was a dynamic scorer, constantly able to score 23+ points a game for his team. In fact, despite a relatively sure season, he finished 27th in scoring. He was quite efficient doing it too, given his gunner type reputation. He shot near 46% from the field for his career and some seasons was near or over 47%. Thats a nice number.
- In fact, Iverson was just a good shooter overall. He shot 38% from 3 for his career and 85.5% from the line. He was also great from mid range as well.
- Iverson was a pretty good passer as well. He averaged 6.1 assists for his career, but that number includes the majority of the seasons he actually played shooting guard instead of point guard. The years he played point guard, he averaged 7 or more assists. He really did a great job finding his teammates.
- Iverson was also a destructive defender. He averaged 2.4 steals a game for his career, but that number should be up around 2.7ish if not for the last two years dragging that number down. He remains 5th in steals, a pretty damn good feat considering hes been retired for two seasons now and only played 11 years.
- Despite his size he wasn't a net negative on the boards either, averaging over 5 for almost his entire career. Splitting time between point guard and shooting guard, you can live with that number.
- Overall, he was a guy you were happy to have in your backcourt. In his prime you could count Iverson to give you 24 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2.7 steals on good percentages. Is that type of player not a Hall of Famer?
Arguments Against Induction
- First and foremost, this argument basically begins and ends with accolades. He has almost none, and it seriously prevents him from being considered a serious candidate.
- Setting aside the fact that the case is done in by the lack of awards, he also might have just been a flat out cancer. Iverson was incredibly turnover prone averaging 2.7 a game, but being consistently over 3 in his peak. Hes 12th in turnovers, not a great number.
- Adding onto the last point, he never won a title. Hell he never went to the finals. That speaks volume to him as a point guard or shooting guard, this was a player that might be the reason your season didn't end in victory.
- Just overall, there isn't much of a case here. Hes a career 21 PPG scorer, which isn't elite. He literally has zero elite stat about him, very little awards, and nothing solid to stand on. Overall, was this a guy that was feared and people loathed playing? I don't think so. Just isn't enough here.
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully!
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
