Yes I voted that Penny should be a HoF inductee.
Not sure why I have to explain my vote or personal reasonings, but sure, why not. Here we go.
There was a time very early on in the league where the former GM of the heat went MIA on his team when they ran into some salary cap problems. I stepped in and ran the team for about a season and a half until
naterade came in and got the team back on track permantly. While I had control of the team I saw what Hardaway was able to do to opposing PGs. And I continued to follow his progress when he went back to the Clippers.
He was very good PG who for a good part of his career played SG.
In comparison to Steve Nash(who we all know is my Favorite NBN player EVER) the numbers line up comparably. Hardaway had 257 double doubles in 784 career games (32%) Nash had 303 in 907 games (33%). Hardaway was PotG 140 times (17% of career games) and Nash had 230 (25%)
Getting into some more comparative numbers, Hardaway had a slash line of 43/77/35 and Nash had 47/89/43 Hardaway 6 rebounds, 2.4 steals,2.6 turns and 7.6 assists per game. Nash 3.7 rebounds,1.6 steals,2.3 turns 9.0 assists.
Please keep in mind that Hardaway spend more than half of his career playing SG.
The fact that their numbers are so similar would lend me to believe that this is kind of similar to the current debate between Pollard and Big Dog Robinson one was dominant offensively, one was pretty amazing on defense, how does one make the determination which one is and isn't worthy?
Once again just my opinion, but yes I feel that Hardaway is HOF worthy
