Arguments For Induction
- Who wants awards?
All League Teams: 15, 16 seasons played, 14 of which are first time. 14 seasons of the 16 he was in the league, he was the best player. Amazing.
All Defensive Teams: 7, 6 of which were first teams
All-Star Participant: 15 in 16 seasons played, won 2 slam dunk contests and 1 3 point shootout as well
Playoff MVP: 2, in 2 titles
Most Valuable Player Awards: 5
- Never averaged less than 31.1 points per game, 'nuff said about scoring.
- Never shot worse than 46.3% from the field, 87.2% from the line, or 44.4% from the line, 'nuff said about efficiency scoring.
- Never averaged less than 6.8 rebounds, or less than 8 after his first two seasons, 'nuff said about rebounding.
- Never averaged less than 3.6 assists, 'nuff said about passing.
- Six time all-defensive first team and never averaged less than 2 stocks after his rookie year in which he averaged only 1.9, 'nuff said about defense.
- 1st in points, field goals, and three pointers, 'nuff said about legacy stats.
- Overall, 'nuff said.
Arguments Against Induction
- Was serious questions about whether or not he could win it all, did it once mid way in his career with the Jazz and then again his last year as a 76ers, but as good as he was, he still only goes out with two titles. Somewhat light.
- Turnover prone, averaging over 2 turnovers per game, and over 3 for his first two seasons.
- Retired at 33, leaving his team high and dry. Asshole.
- Overall, too much here. Gotta vote no, right?
Vote carefully, and remember to throw out arguments regardless of which side you're on. But if you are on the side of "no" be prepared to be laughed at and ridiculed. This should be a discussion that eventually gets the league to the proper decision on him. Which is obviously yes, in this case. Your vote can also be retracted after it's been cast if you feel like switching to the other side based on the arguments that have been made. To be inducted, a player needs 70% and to be considered in a later class they need 50%. Vote carefully.
***BONUS - Don't forget that everyone who votes yes gets $25 and the person that makes the best argument or contributes to the discussion the best will be awarded an extra $25***
