Hakeem makes a strong case to be voted into the NBN HOF. He will go down as one of the most balanced centers of all time. He excels on both ends of the court averaging a double double in points and rebounds. Hakeem was an all-star and had some very impressive career highs with 46 points and 24 rebounds. The only major flaw in his game is poor free throw shooting which is .646% Hakeem Olajuwon C NBN Creation Draft: 1st round, pick 18 Achievements Championships: 0 Player of the Game: 27 Player of the Week: 1 Player of the Month: 0 Double Doubles: 57 Triple Doubles: 1 Season Averages Games: 75 MPG: 33.8 PPG: 21.8 RPG: 12.9 APG: 4.1 SPG: 1.3 BPG: 3.0 TOPG: 2.4 FG %: .462 FT %: .646 3P %: .000 Career Highs Points: 46 Rebounds: 24 Assists: 10 Steals: 4 Blocks: 7 2000 - All-Star Game Participant

Its hard to justify a vote for Olajuwon either way, as there's only 1 season to judge his candidacy. I voted yes, as during his age 37 season, he was a top 3 big man in the NBN and i'm just going to assume that that production extended to the previous 15-17 seasons of his career as well. this will be a great feature in the future, when some of the current crop of players(that have a little more career to base our decisions off of) decide to hang them up. Stockton, Shaq, Zo, Kidd etc.

But we need to start somewhere and like you said if they were really good during the last year of their careers it would be easy to assume they were as good or better in previous. Once we are 8 seasons in there will be plenty of stats and I can list year by year.

I said yes, but this is a bit weird to induct players on one season.

ok i am going against the grain here an vote no...
if his name was joe brown, would he get in on this one very good at age 37 season, most likely not...
its not his fault that he could not have played longer, but if i was to vote for him, then i really would have had to vote for muggsy...
in real life hakeem is most likely my favorite player of all time, so this is really hard for me to say no...
i feel like the NBN HOF should still stand for the players who really do something special, like play 5 years an win 3 ships, or play 12 years with awesome stats, etc...

Not saying that's a bad thing but unless Spurs 3 peat it would be empty. 0-1 getting in this year sounds about right and 1-2 next year (Robinsons/mutumbo?) Once were in 2010 there might be a class with 7 great nominees.

Agreed - also not sure if you saw my original post but he needs 15 votes and at least 75% yes. It's really close right now.

Im saying no. I don't think Hakeem did enough in his one season offensively. If he would have put up 30+ points on 48% shooting he'd get my vote, but since it was only one season of 21 ppg and shooting 46% that is nothing spectacular that should get him in.

I put yes, although I agree that one season isn't enough. However he put up 21-12 in his LAST season. Can't argue with that. Imagine in his prime

I gotta go with no. His one season just wasn't quite special enough to get him into the hof.

I'm saying yes based on gaudy stats both ways, but HOF shouldn't have players that played 1 season in my opinion.
