I get the feeling some of you guys voted no for the sake of being petty. There have been much worse bigs to get voted in than Vern. I can't wait for the re-vote when Vern inevitably gets voted in like he deserves to be. if I wanted to be petty to Donny I would have done it 3 leagues ago. This guy is a tier below what I'd put in the HoF. Love Donny like a brother being petty has nothing to do with it

This guy is a tier below what I'd put in the HoF. Love Donny like a brother being petty has nothing to do with it I was almost 100% sure he would get in easily. His leaderboard rankings, consistency (1,000 double doubles), tremendous career without any faults at all... Was pretty sure he was gonna get almost every yes vote. His averages might not be as pretty considering he played for almost 20 seasons, but what he did altogether should've got him in 100%. 4th all-time in rebounds, 5th all-time in double doubles, 20th in games, 64th in points, 10th in free throws, even top 100 in FG never being a top option. On top of being 56th in blocks, even considering he wasn't a 3+ BPG guy.

18 years of slightly above average production oh boy what a player Year 3: 18/11 Year 4: 24/13 Year 5: 23/14 Year 6: 19/12 Year 7: 20/13 Year 8: 18/13 Year 9: 20/13 Year 10: 18/13 Year 11: 21/15 Year 12: 21/13 Year 13: 18/13 Year 14: 18/13 Year 15: 19/13 Year 16: 16/14 Year 17: 16/13 Year 18: 16/12 So, let's pick out a few of his best years and see if anyone in the NBN last season had those stats! 24213 - Only Teofilo Cruz and Maurice Stokes 23/14 - Literally just Cruz 21/15 - Literally just Cruz Multiple 18/19/20/wq and 13 seasons - Only Cruz, Chamberlain, Stokes, Pettit, and Meneghin were 18/13 or better. So, that would mean 9 seasons of top 5 in terms of producing bigs, at the very least there. Not to mention, he had 3+ stocks in all those years, which would make him a top 15-or-so stock-getting big.

Once again I don't care about you forcing him shots he shouldn't have taken.

Once again I don't care about you forcing him shots he shouldn't have taken. He shot over 45% every season he was on the Pacers. Maurice Stokes is a career .449 shooter, does that mean he shouldn’t be an option?

Last title team with an option big was Fulks on the Clippers in 2036. He shot nearly 49% that season.

Last title team with an option big was Fulks on the Clippers in 2036. He shot nearly 49% that season. That’s a testament for how bigs in this league have been consistently less skilled altogether, with teams rather building through their wings than their bigs because they’re much easier to find, especially with how everyone uses outside focus.
